The Groveland Hotel

Nice vintage hotel with friendly staff

Great location in a very old hotel! Room was nice, but it is right on the road. However being right in Groveland is a big bonus.

It was nice to stay in a historic, pet friendly hotel. The staff was attentive and friendly. They answered all my questions about the local area.

Very nice history and location was different. Loves most of the staff but there were 2 workers that I had issues with. My boyfriend is indeed a very large black man and the town had 2 other people of color which meant he stood out. However, the first night a thin man with blond hair rudely stared me down to the point of extreme discomfort and the next night a young blond girl acted like she was going to be attacked by him when he walked by. Someone needs to address that. However, there were other staff that was completely a pleasure to meet.

The perfect hotel to stay at on the way to Yosemite. Comfortable beds, good food and a lovely location being in an old gold rush town. We also .enjoyed the Iron Door Salloon next door, as they had live music.

The only negative I have is very minor in that no one told us that they lock the main door after a certain time and that you get back in via a door on the upstairs balcony.
