The Chesterhouse

The location was excellent. The breakfast was very good.

The room I had was right next to the side street so kind of noisy, but there was an event on. The curtains really need to block the light better.

The location is fantastic and the staff were very good in all areas of the hotel. Our room was large with both a bath and shower over the bath. Great views across the whole bay. Breakfast was fantastic.

The mattress was very poor and every spring could be felt making a good night's sleep very difficult. 3 beds in the room and all same!

Amazingly convenient location for everything.

Room was nice, but there was a noisy kitchen extractor fan outside. Breakfast was OK, but could have had better quality items. Great location for the prom and the shops, with a short walk to the ferry.

No air-con, and external noise.

Restaurant wasn't doing full evening menus some nights

Accommodation was clean and comfortable with everything needed for a comfortable long weekend stay. Staff were friendly and helpful indeed nothing was too much trouble. We didn't eat at the hotel but passing through it appeared that what was on offer was of a good standard and plentiful.

Not much to criticise save that some of the fixtures and decoration looked a little 'tired', but all was functional.

Great location, excellent breakfast!

Narrow corridors and the narrowest toilet we have ever seen and witnessed. Could not get from shower to toilet seat without opening the door, because the sink was in the middle of the corridor shaped toilet.

- excellent location - not a bad price when you compare it to hotels on the same promenade - excellent selection of cooked breakfast items - were able to provide us two fans for the room which was necessary given the heat

- dated property, layout quite confusing and we got lost on the way to our room a couple of times - lots of road/street noise - very hot room - nowhere that secure to leave your bikes - essentially places them in a back corridor somewhere - shower changed between hot and cold every five seconds
