The staff here were so friendly and helpful. This is a lovely hotel in a quiet location. The room was well equipped with everything you need and clean, the en suite had a great shower. Free parking as its a little out of the centre but this was good for the quiet at night to get a peaceful sleep.

The mattress was a little soft but this is preference only.

Was invited by my friends to attend on Christmas Day…what an amazing time we all had. The hotel was very clean and tidy.The staff went above and beyond for everyone of us, from young children to guests in wheelchairs….the food was top notch, the games and entertainment kept everyone in the right spirit and I would definitely recommend to anyone……DEFINITELY VISIT!!!!

We attended The Carousel yesterday for Christmas lunch—our 6th visit now at the 3pm sitting. Once again, everything was faultless: the staff, the food, and the entertainment were all outstanding. I had the prawn starter, beef main, and Christmas pudding, and every course was absolutely delicious. Our table was perfect and exactly where we had requested. We then went through to the main bar lounge and enjoyed the entertainment and bingo/raffle! A huge thank you to all the staff for their hard work—we’re already looking forward to returning next year!

Christmas Day Dinner – Extremely Disappointing 😡 I booked Christmas Day dinner for myself, my partner, my sister and my niece at a cost of £70 per person. This was a lot of hard-earned money for my family, and sadly our entire Christmas Day was completely ruined because of this experience. I strongly advise DO NOT book this event. NOISE LEVEL: From the moment we arrived, the noise level in the room was unbearable. It was so loud you couldn’t even have a basic conversation at the table. The room was clearly not suitable for this type of event or the number of people booked in. During the meal, a singer with a keyboard began performing shortly after the starters were served. The volume was completely inappropriate for a Christmas dinner setting, it was overwhelmingly loud, to the point where nobody could hear each other speak. My partner politely asked twice if the volume could be turned down, but this was ignored. To make matters worse, many of the songs weren’t even Christmas themed, which completely destroyed any festive atmosphere we were hoping for. TABLE SEATING: Our table was the only one placed on a long booth seating area, and we were not informed of this in advance. This made the experience feel even more uncomfortable and poorly planned. FOOD: This is the only positive I can give. The food was acceptable, and the staff themselves worked hard and were friendly. CONCLUSION: I am genuinely upset and disappointed by how badly this event was organised. We were not informed that non-residents would not be dining in the main function suite, and instead were placed in another room that was completely unsuitable for a Christmas Day dinner. I work away all year and booked this well in advance to ensure my family could enjoy a special Christmas Day together. Instead, we left feeling frustrated, disappointed, and upset that such an important day had been spoiled, especially after spending so much money. I would not recommend this event to anyone. Save your money, because you will almost certainly be disappointed.
