The Merchant City Inn

No lift. Rooms very basic. Far to hot with no way to turn heating down. Very noisy at night so could do with better windows

OKAY for a couple of nights. No bar. Continental breakfast meagre.

Bit basic but Lovely clean room, hot shower. Good location

Instead of a welcome, we were greeted with a long list of "fines" that would be imposed, so much so, we were scared to even breathe. No proper locks on the rooms and then the threat of a £50 fine for a £3 key. Credit card details stored with full access by all staff and visible to other people in room in violation of data security laws, which I will probably report to the authorities. No fire escape from our floor which staff tried to cover up with the ridiculous rule of handing keys in when going for a meal. No assisstance with luggage because the hotel tried to cut corners and forgot to take out adequate insurance.

There is a 24hr reception but I had to go looking for receptionist to get in my room. I walked around the hotel for 30minlooking for the person do i could get in my room. Dissappointed as you have to leave your room key at hotel when leaving to go out.

Friendly staff, basic and clean room,/bathroom. Warm room.

Pleasant stay, one or two improvements required...breakfast disappointing and wifi connection on 4th floor non-existent

Although clean and tidy. Basement room dingy. Breakfast was not up to much. Def not worth £80 a night. I checked out after 1 night. Got a room at the Argyle for £47. Much better

Would return. Probably will do soon. Cheap. Cheerful. Comfortable.

The staff was very friendly very close to all the shops. Would you use again.
