The Merchant City Inn

I was staying in Glsgow after seeing B&S v RSNO (it was a draw). The Merchant City Inn is close to the concert hall at a reasonable price. However my small single room was in the first floor with a boarded up doorway for a view. The hotel was looking in need of an upgrade and had no ambience. Breakfast was a traditional buffet with a cooked breakfast extra. I would not recommend this hotel.

Location and friendly staff, and value for money. Though breakfast service closed too early. Great to have experienced our 2 nights with the staff.

One night only, good central position close to main railway stations and bus station. no wifi in my room, had to sit out in the large reception area to use my ipad.

Not understanding at all... Had to cancel the trip since my travel companion had to head to the hospital for Chemo treatment. They would not offer a waiver for the trip or let us reschedule.

Great location. We had the 4th floor so it was quite the walk up with the suitcases! There was a complimentary continental breakfast but when we arrived everything was picked over and being put away 45 minutes before it ended. Other than that, comfortable rooms and very pleasant staff.

Great location in centre of Glasgow. Room much smaller than pictures on website. Shower head falling off wall. Silicone sealer around shower tray black with mould. Shelf above sink falling off wall. Wooden floor in room had not been wet cleaned - dirty. Continental breakfast adequate but quality of content was poor - cheap products. Price of room was increased due to European championships taking place. Two weeks later and room prices were 60% cheaper!

Great location. Staff were friendly, but the rooms are terrible. Grungy and dated, the locks on the doors wouldn’t keep anyone out.

Definitely not great. When down at breakfast I asked where the nearest toilet was and was told the one on that floor was getting used by the staff changing. Not happy as I had then to go upstairs to my room. I didn't think the breakfast was up to much as the fruit was actually tinned fruit. No thank you. ALSO having only one pillow each and thinking in the cupboard was a duvet which in fact was pillows so why not put them on the bed. Most people sleep with 2 pillows. Our stay was ok but could have bn better. Our t.v. wasn't even in the middle of the room and it didn't swivel on the wall. ALSO no hot water in the shower in the morning. 😣😣😣

Location is good. There is no elevator/lift and we were put on the 5th floor in an adjacent building with steep, narrow stairs.

The room was clean. It was really outdated. Very noisy, windows not secure. Paid a lot of money for room and would say it was exceptionally poor value for money. The place really needs renovated.
