Escale Oceania Marseille Vieux Port

Location was fantastic which is my most important criteria. I really liked the minute balcony because we could leave the door open and get fresh air. At night the closed balcony doors kept the noise out.

Bathroom was very small but the shower was very good. Only a little complaint is that there was no power point near any mirror so it was hard to use my hair straightener- this is a very minor irritation

The location on the Vieux Port was perfect. The room was clean, and very comfortable. Breakfast had a wide range of options and was delicious.

Very helpfully and friendly staff. I would certainly recommend this place and I will be returning.

Location was excellent, right on the port and close To public transport. The windows were double glazed which blocked out most of the noise. Loved the kettle and tea and biscuits provided, toiletries were good. Staff helpful when asked a question. I had a room with a view to the harbour, this is a must. Don’t go for a cheaper room. I loved looking out at the happenings on the port.

Des verres en carton. Senteur d’égout près de l’ascenseur. Petit-déjeuner bien ordinaire. Pomme de douche défectueuse. Rideaux mal accrochés. Fauteuil inconfortable. Personnel à la réception accueillant mais la pièce d’accueil très petite et déprimante.

Great location near vieux port. Good sized room with nice views.

Housekeeping is poor: there was a bin of rubbish in the bathroom when I arrived, pillowcases had black smudges and folded towels were stained. When I mentioned the bin of rubbish to the receptionist (I speak French) she didn't apologise, merely told me this happens all the time and there was no point in her reporting the problem to the head housekeeper. If issues are ignored there will be no improvement.
