Sandusky. Nothing to complain about! A few hiccups along the way but nothing to complain about!

Wasn’t impressed overall with the watermark. The park is smaller than we expected and super packed with tons of people. Also not a ton of things for little kids to do. Ours kids had fun but I don’t see us going back again.

We recently stayed at Great Wolf Lodge for a weekend with our three kids (ages 7, 10, and 13), and it ended up being one of the easiest and most fun family trips we’ve taken in a long time. If you’re on the fence about whether Great Wolf Lodge is worth it for older kids, I can honestly say this is a great age for it. The indoor water park was the main highlight. There were plenty of bigger slides and raft rides that kept our older kids entertained for hours, plus the wave pool and lazy river were constant favorites. What really stood out to us was how clean everything was and how many lifeguards were on duty — it felt very safe and well managed, which made it easier for us to relax as parents. One thing we didn’t expect was how good the food options were. There are quick options inside the water park, pizza and takeout you can bring back to your room, and a full sit-down restaurant with a big menu. It was really nice not having to leave the resort for meals. We also liked that we could grab food, take a break in the room, and then go back to activities later. Beyond the water park, there were tons of activities like MagiQuest, arcade games, mini golf, dance parties, and evening entertainment. The nighttime dance party was actually one of our kids’ favorite parts of the trip. There was always something going on, so nobody was ever bored. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and spacious enough for a family, and we loved how everything was in one place — water park, food, activities, and the room were all within a short walk. It really felt like a full vacation without the stress of flights, long lines, or complicated planning. Overall, we had a really great experience and would definitely recommend Great Wolf Lodge, especially for families with elementary and middle school aged kids. It’s a really fun, easy weekend getaway and a great option if you want a family trip that feels big without being stressful to plan.

The communication via the app/text was mostly non-existent and at best was very delayed. We extended our stay by a night and had to switch rooms (which was understandable) but the new room had a terrible smell and when we went to the front desk to let them know and see what could be done, they were able to put us in a new room but is was a smaller and cheaper and the guy at the desk did not let me know that. So when I got to the room I when on to the website and saw that there were other rooms available, including nicer rooms like the one we had stayed the prior 4 nights in. I was offended by this given the amount of money we have spent over the years and even just during this trip. Also because we had to switch rooms a 2nd time bc somehow no one noticed the awful smell in the room they were going to put us in. Being in the customer service business myself, I would never had tried to solve that situation with a downgraded room, but rather, I would have provided an upgraded room at no cost, or at the very least, that room should have been offered even there would have been an additional charge. And at the bare minimum I should have at least been refunded the difference in price for staying in the downgraded room versus the one I paid for.

4 stars because the staff was amazing, they all loved my daughter’s pink hair and kept telling her how cool it was and made her feel super special. They also were super fast and accommodating when we asked for a playpen last minute, making sure to be extra quiet when dropping it off so they didn’t wake our baby up. Even when it got super busy in some of the shops they made sure to make my kids felt like they were listened and important to when getting something or paying the games. It was also incredibly convenient to be able to order Dunkin as soon as I got up from my room and they had it done incredibly fast. Minus 1 star because the restaurant was incredibly slow and had limited expenses options. Other than that it was a good visit and we will hopefully be back soon.

The staff was friendly. The building was clean. It was lots of fun. The stuff really gets into it and makes it so much fun for the kids. They also have a wolf series that they play in the lobby which is so cool! Also we LOVED the Dunkin’ Donuts inside.

Kids had so much fun, the price of literally everything was crazy! Hoping to come back, we'll see.

I recently stayed at Great Wolf Lodge Sandusky as a single parent with my child, and it was truly an unforgettable experience for both of us. What makes this place so special is how easy it is as a single parent—everything is in one location, so I could focus on spending quality time with my child instead of worrying about logistics. The water park kept my child entertained for hours, and there were plenty of activities throughout the day that made it feel like a full experience, not just a hotel stay. But what really stood out to me was the exceptional care from the staff. During our visit, my son experienced a diabetic episode, and the response from the team was immediate. Multiple staff members rushed over to help, and one team member in particular stayed right on top of the situation—calm, attentive, and incredibly supportive. In a moment that could have been very scary, they made me feel completely at ease. As a parent, especially on your own, that level of care means everything. I will never forget how quickly and compassionately they stepped in to help my child. Yes, it can get busy and costs can add up, but for the experience, the memories, and especially the peace of mind knowing your child is in a safe and caring environment, it is absolutely worth it.

Have been going here for years and every time it seems a little worse. Management trying to squeeze even more each time. Was it purchased by private equity? Used to have an impressive animatronic display in the lobby, now all gone. Luggage carts are stored outside in the cold and rain to maximize sales of snacks where they used to be. Towels are aggressively guarded by towel police whereas they used to be freely available. Doors are only opened by awkwardly bending your wrist to connect a wrist band to a small sensor on the door whereas in the past there was a key card. A well staffed front desk has been replaced by error prone kiosks.

Smaller than the other hotel/waterpark duo in the area. Still fun. Enjoyed it for the day trip we had planned.
