Castle at Waikīkī Grand

Location was good

Construction going on in u it above me. Could Not sleep. The floor is very dirty in the u it. The floor under the bed is black.

Where to start.. Booked a month out, called 2 weeks out to confirm room size and details.. Was advertised as a 400 Sq ft premium Kitchenette with ocean views... 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂 250 sq ft, damaged queen bed w/sagging mattress. Couldn't get out of bed without climbing over wife because it's against the wall on 1 side and a dumb 2x2 ft colum in the middle of the room on the other side.. DUMB.. No window coverings that worked day Is day and night is day in the room.. Bathroom, disgusting see Pic of sink.. 😂.. Got the mgr to move us last night to what she said was their best premium room.514.. Well better.. Close to what was expected but still old and the air was on because there was no control for it so it's either on or off... It's 87..so on all the time.. Really avoid this hotel & especially room 1001 on 10th floor... It's a joke...

Building is run down. The castle grand is an older section of the Waikiki Grand that is condo owned.. Our choice said it was 400sq ft and showed ok room pics. Trouble is nothing on the web site matched the actual room itself.. It was around 260 sqft, very tiny bath with an almost non existent sink.. Had a double bed wedged between a column in the middle of the room and a wall.. Only way in was to climb over the end of the bed.. And the bed was like sleeping in a folding taco shell. No drapes only broken window shades that allowed the night light in the room making it hard to sleep.. 1001, do not take this room....

We chose the property primarily for the location and walkability of the area. The property itself is a little dated but clean. Friendly staff. The swimming pool was cold and shaded early, it could be updated there, though frankly we did not spend any time in the pool until the last day before we had to leave.

First, I requested an early check in, but it was ignored and didn't get to the hotel staff, 2nd the room wasn't what I requsted, it was very small and not worth the $2,173. Price. The room was oudated. Also, no room service to come in every other day to change the towels and take out the trash. I had to do that myself. The water was shut off in the building with not much warning. Also, no notification that next door to my room there was construction going on which was very loud. There was a foul smell down the hall on the 5th floor where my room was. I was there to take my friends ashes to scatter at sea and this bad experience at the Waikiki Grand added to the stress and sadness that I was experiencing. Next time I make a trip, it will not include the Waikiki Grand, where I have been staying dlto celebrate my birthday over the last 25 years.

I liked the location it was super close to Waikiki beach and I liked the A/C in our room it was nice and strong. I also liked the fact that the tv was super close to the bed.

I didn't like the fact that they charge for a cleaning fee when the rooms aren't even cleaned everyday they are only clean when you check out. This place is wayy to expensive for what it is you pay so much in fees its not worth it. I didnt like the fact that you have to pay for parking every night I have been to the other Hawaiian islands before and I have never had to pay for parking at any of the other resorts and hotels I have been to. Not a good look trying to Nickle and dime you when you’re already in a expensive area.

It is obviously an old facility. With that being said, the location is great. The view from the 10th floor is magnificent. Could use some refurbishment, but would stay there again.

The only concern i had was with the Mattress. The Mattress in the room i had was very thin and worn. I suggest this Mattress be replaced.

Close to the beach

Love the location. Check in was a bit sketchy doing it on a different floor. But condo was great.
