Just spent half term here and it was great, breakfast and staff very good.

Great hotel if you want some peace and quiet. Our apartment was very spacious and had a balcony that overlook the lovely pool area/trees. Staff were very helpful. Only slight disappointment was the food which was ok but not as high a standard as other aspects of the hotel.
Wonderful find. Beautiful pool a distance from the beach. Breakfast buffet very complete. Sadly though not bacon every day, one day bacon next day sausages. Apartment was fantastic and really spacious. Lovely balcony. Very well equipped kitchen. Remember to buy some washing up liquid if you plan on using the kitchen. Toiletries in the bathrooms a bit sparse for quality of the hotel
5 night stay got off to dodgy start when we were bumped out of our pool view room to accommodate the overbooking of golfers! Two nights followed in Room 001 which is a perfectly nice room but looks out over the ground floor of the car park with no useable outside space due to lack of privacy. We were compensated with a bottle of local fizz and apologies On our 3 rd night we moved to a 2 bed apartment with lovely sea views which was easily large enough for a family of 6, so although a nice gesture we would have preferred the room we booked from the start. all the staff at the Formosa are lovely and friendly, breakfast is good. We ate 3 times at the hotel and on 2 occasions it was good.
Nice location, nice weather especially if you go at the end of the season and you get plenty of sunshine. I will probably go again in Portugal but not the same location maybe choose a location more central to make it easy to get around
We were in Portugal for a wedding but decided to travel early and have a break first. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was very good especially the breakfast! The pool area was well kept and because it wasn't too busy it was area sure to spend time there.
Very good apartment, large rooms, large bathrooms, with kitchen and with the indispensable for preparing simple things. Very comfortable and peaceful. Breakfast ok for the category. Quiet place with beautiful gardens and clean pools. The playground area is very degraded and needs to be restored asap, from my point of view as it is it is very dangerous for the kids.
