Southmoreland on the Plaza an Urban Inn

My experience has been awful & I haven’t checked in yet. I arrived early being that my job booked this stay. Meanwhile it’s 30 degrees outside. I called the main number & simply asked if there was a waiting area where I can wait until check in time. Not only did they refused they telling me stand in the cold outside for over an hour. What is this how don’t you have a lobby area for your guest especially in the winter. Unbelievable!!!

In the Charlie Parker room- Our tv signal was so spotty we were losing connection every five-ten minutes trying to watch a movie; even after turning the heat down to 68°, both of us couldn't sleep well because we were so hot and sweaty; "continental breakfast" consisted of a croissant, a single bite of crappy Sams Club granola bar, a single spooonful of warm greek yogurt, and water from an office dispenser. When asked what could be improved upon, my response was, "A bathtub that takes less than a half hour to fill, that doesn't have an overly lengthy spigot cutting the tub space in half."

I booked for my son and bride for their honeymoon night. Notifed the hotel. I requested an hour early checkin. They would not allow despite no one staying at the hotel. According to my booking thru Expedia, I was allowed early checkin. They also did not receive breakfast. Per the hotel, the had an event the precluded them from serving breakfast to their only guests. The email they sent day of checkin didn't indicate no breakfast. They said we got a special rate. This is not true. Same rate on other dates. If you are wanting to go somewhere for a special event, this is not your place. They could care less.

Clean room, lovely place, comfortable stay

There was not parking space, nor was there room for my car to turn and exit the parking lot. I ended up grazing my rear fender on the sharp rock wall, and will have to have the paint repaired. Not a good experience.

Beautiful property terrible parking

Beautiful house, felt very safe there. And while the walls are old and thin, I slept very well. My child Is going to college nearby so I will be frequently needing to make stops in KC and this place was perfect for me!

We were very disappointed that there was no continental breakfast available during our stay. Also, parking is very tight on property. We would not have felt safe parking on the street or in the neighborhood. I previously stayed here when it was a B&B. Pretty disappointed in the change.

“Check in” was terrible. Not an actual person here. Sent me no code to get in. Had to call the number on door to get a code to get in. You can’t control the air temperature in your room.

Awesome little boutique hotel, self check in was super easy. A little tight for parking so I wouldn't bring a huge vehicle but my mid size SUV fit fine.
