Adventure Inn

We stayed here twice during our trip; once the night we flew in, and again a week later the night before our flight, and wow! The easiest stay of our trip, all around. These were the highlights: - The hotel itself is beautiful. Rooms, common areas, the building, etc. Very clean and welcoming. We could have stayed for a whole week and been happy. - The front desk was so easy to communicate and work with - All logistics were smooth with the airport pickup/drop off - The staff was all very knowledgable, helpful and friendly. We left every interaction with a smile. Top tier customer service. - The food was delicious and the dinner was fairly priced. - The neighborhood/area around felt very safe. Thank you Eric and the rest of the staff at the Adventure Inn for a warm welcome to Costa Rica and a great goodbye. We will be staying here again during travel days every time we return.

My family of 4 from Colorado stayed at the Adventure Inn on the last night of our vacation in Costa Rica. It was a really great experience. The rooms are clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. The staff is really helpful and friendly - and speaks English well, which was a big help for us since our Spanish is not very good. They have one of the best hotel breakfasts I have ever had and it was included with the stay. My favorite part is when the owner of the hotel, originally from Canada, stopped by and asked if my kids would like to help him feed the fish in the pond. That was a really nice thing to do and they loved it. I hope to stay here again the next time we are visiting Costa Rica.

We always go to Adventure Inn because it's fantastic. The staff is top notch, the restaurant is comfortable (yummy full breakfast included) and your airport transfer is also included. Eric the owner takes great pride in his hotel and he should. The pool is lovely, the location is lovely (not far from airport, very nice part of the city, with nearby duck ponds to walk to, and it's very quiet). There is an indoor koi pond for kids and adults to enjoy, and handpainted murals and accents. The rooms are beautiful and spotless. If you stay frequently, Eric returns the loyalty with reduced rates. Three times we have arrived with our pets, and Eric has water bowls waiting. He will place you near the front lobby for ease of walking your dogs to the lobby and outside. We always walk our dogs to the duck pond down the street and around the neighbourhood. You will not find a better hotel or better value than Adventure Inn.

We stayed at Adventure Inn for just one night as we were traveling from Jacó Beach back home to Atlanta, Georgia, and it was the perfect stopover for our large family. The accommodations were spacious, comfortable, and exactly what we needed after a long day of travel. Our kids absolutely loved the colorful murals throughout the hotel and especially around the pool — such a fun and unique touch! The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating from the moment we arrived. I wish I remembered everyone’s names, but the kitchen staff in particular deserves a special shout-out. They were so warm and welcoming, always greeting us with big smiles. Breakfast was another highlight. We thought it was just a buffet, so we were pleasantly surprised to learn that we could also order fresh dishes from the menu — such a lovely bonus! We would absolutely stay here again the next time we’re in Costa Rica. Highly recommend Adventure Inn to anyone traveling through San José, especially families!

My stay at the Adventure Inn in November was simply fantastic! The airport taxi arranged by the hotel was there, the welcome was warm despite my late arrival at 1:00 AM, and the room was spotless. The bed was very comfortable and quiet with soft sheets. The hotel is truly beautiful with tropical decor. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious, and the staff even arranged my transportation to the Tracopa terminal to catch the bus to Uvita. Excellent value for money and close to SJO Airport. Thank you to the entire team!

We actually stayed 2 nights at Adventure Inn - the night of our arrival to Costa Rica and the night before our departure. Our son had stayed here last summer and the summer before when he had traveled to Costa Rica for his volunteer research project in the Cloud Forest, and I had been impressed with his photos and recommendation. Our rooms were very clean and spacious , the staff so helpful and accommodating (especially when I was trying to use my Uber app for the very first time and the front desk made all the arrangements, using my phone), the food was wonderful (the complimentary breakfast with all the fresh and amazing fruits was absolutely delicious and our dinner at the hotel restaurant was wonderful!), and the location was perfect, and the free airport shuttle was a bonus, saving us the expense of using a cab or Uber. Our favourite waitress was Cynthia, who we loved having her serve us during our 2 breakfasts. She was so genuine, courteous and joyful, and it felt like she was part of our family! She truly was a gem and I'm grateful to have met her.

We are ABINA Ministries and have been staying at Adventure Inn nearly every year since 2008. The atmosphere in this hotel is more like a home than a hotel. Indeed we consider the owners and staff family because of their genuine care and hospitality. Not only do we receive this care and hospitality, but it has been extended to all we have recommended to stay there as well as to our charges , orphans in Costa Rica .

This year, 2025, marks our 17th year of staying at the Adventure Inn in Los Arcos, Cariari, San Jose. Our nonprofit organization helps orphaned children each year and our volunteers appreciate the friendly and safe environment provided by the Adventure Inn. The rooms are affordable, clean, comfortable and accommodating. There is an optional safe key and refrigerator available for a small daily fee. The morning breakfast is included in the daily rate. The morning chef serves the best coffee, juices, fresh fruit along with your choice of egg and vegetarian entrees. The wait staff greets each guest as if they were welcoming you into their own home. After our long days of working with the children in Grecia, we look forward to the affordable and delicious dinners. This hotel’s location is close to the airport, the City Mall, Walmart, several banks, the convention center, our favorite Souvenir sho, and downtown San Jose. The location is best and being one hour from the orphanages we serve, the children enjoy their yearly swim in Adventure Inn’s pristine pool and spa. This year, to show their appreciation, the kiddos made a flag for the owners. The hotel helped our ministry with transportation for the children, at a very reasonable rate. We count on their free and professional airport transfers upon our arrival and departure. Most importantly, we love the owners and employee relationships that we have formed throughout the years. The property is clean, comfortable, and beautifully maintained. The staff goes above and beyond — they truly make you feel like family. I can’t wait to come back!

I am on my first time in Costa Rica and I wanted a real experience not an American adjacent experience and this hit the mark in so many ways!!! It has so much personality, its clean, great food and an even better staff!!! I will always come here!!! All the stars for this Inn for me!
