location excellent. Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast and dinners very good. Useful to have a car park. Great to find a fan in the room.

Fantastic location, food is superb - Sunday roast was delicious and breakfast fantastic! Staff all lovely and helpful. We stayed in room 3 which was a slightly more expensive room - Fan was already in room upon arrival in the hot weather and we were lucky enough to get a space out the back to park for free both nights. Lots of nice little touches, complimentary chocolates and water in the fridge plus a happy birthday card for my partner - so thoughtful thank you!

The shower tiles in the bathroom are worn and could do with upgrading maybe but didn’t affect our stay at all. No lift which older guests should take into account and quite a few stairs but again no issue for us. Very sleepy town on a Sunday/Monday nowhere with music on etc but again no reflection on the hotel itself.

Amazing central location, delicious breakfast and great stylish but cosy decor. Would be a fab stay for Christmas with a roaring fire! Even did some work in the front restaurant room.

Earlier check in would've been appreciated. A lift for heavy luggage (lots of stairs!) but appreciate it's an old building. Coffee wasn't brilliant.

There was nothing we didn’t like but the net curtains needed to be changed they were very marked view from our window could have been made to look more pleasant whiteness on the duvet cover was not the brightest but was clean few stains on the carpet this isn’t a contradiction but needs to be looked into

we're 6 foot tall and had our room in the oldest part of the hotel so showering was difficult due to the low ceiling. otherwise the rest of the room was comfortable. The other rooms may have had higher ceilings so if anyone is tall then maybe request a different room. there was no air conditioning and an open window meant the street noise and pub customer's noise was evident. A fan was provided but was ineffective.

Bedroom decoration needs attention including curtain track. Would prefer walk-in shower rather than over-bath.

They had washcloths! Great shower. Good breakfast buffet, plus a menu for a hot breakfast. Quiet comfortable room. And location, location.

Somewhat labyrinthine access to room, but now I’m reaching for something negative to say.
