The Fleece at Cirencester

Room, service, facilities, and food were excellent! and we had a view and a window seat over the high street - couldn't have been better! Loved it!

The room was quite hot; the staff have out a fan in the room but it was still too hot. Do not know if much can be done about that in such an old building (regs etc)

The breakfast was good. The location was fabulous.

A room on a lower floor as my husband has mobility problems. We were on the second floor and it was very difficult for him every time he had to get to the room.

The room was shabby ie paint chipped walls and doors . the shower waste filthy . Linen on the bed cheap . Pillows cheap poly . Not the feather and crisp cotton one would expect in a hotel at this price. The Sunday lunch was the greatest disappointment . The roast beef inedibe and the Yorkshire pudding more about drama and appearance than orthentic taste . The greens were cheap chard not brussel sprouts or green beens or even peas. We took our son and his wife for a treat and we all left our meals .

Staff were excellent very friendly and helpful. Bed very comfortable and hotel was perfect location.

We had lunch at The Fleece today and were served by Jo. She was very understanding and accommodating to our requirements, making us feel very welcome and comfortable. The food was excellent and they allowed us to book a table the day before, meaning we could relax about finding somewhere to have lunch on a busy long weekend.

The central location is beautiful, as is the building's main facade, which is very characteristic and charming. The dinner was perfect, with quality dishes and excellent waiter service. Breakfast was good, especially the à la carte options. The buffet selection was decent. The waitress was very courteous and attentive. The bed in the room, while not large, had a comfortable mattress that made it easy to sleep.

The reception, objectively below par compared to the rest of the staff. The room: at the back of the building, overlooking the internal courtyard, a bit dark, with a view of a dirty terrace; you sleep when the restaurant closes. Very hot, though the fan helps somewhat. What's surprising are the worn details. Lack of maintenance. The image is a bit different from the one on the website.
