Spring Hotel Bitácora

We checked in at Spring Bitácora last evening, and unfortunately our experience has been very disappointing. The room was extremely cold during the night so much so that I ended up getting sick. I asked the staff if there was heating in the room, and they told me there isn’t. I also requested a portable heater, but they said they don’t have. I am traveling with my 2-year-old daughter, which made the situation even more concerning. They offered an extra blanket, but that doesn’t really solve the problem when the room itself is so cold. If the weather isn’t warm, I would strongly advise against staying at this hotel, as it doesn’t offer much to compensate there isn’t even an indoor pool. This has turned into the worst holiday we’ve ever had.

Having been to this hotel in the past I thought I would return solo (for the first time). For a supposed 4* hotel I found that the overall standard of the hotel overall had sadly, vastly, declined. From food to rooms, shows etc.etc. BUT the most important thing I found and am absolutely appalled by were the BED BUGS. I WAS COMPLETELY COVERED IN BITES HEAD TO TOE OVERNIGHT. I was not the only person at the hotel who had this experience as saw evidence on other people that I spoke to about the problem . I had read a review on here before booking but didn’t believe it but to my cost I certainly do now. I have complained to the company I travelled with and they offered NO compensation at all and really aren’t interested so PLEASE AVOID UNLESS YOU WANT YOUR HOLIDAY SPOILT.

Best **** hotel we stayed in, brilliant food, friendly staff, clean, good size and comfortable bed rooms., good entertainment.

Lovely hotel spoilt by cold food and only one old microwave to allow you to heat up. Kids running a mock at what should be adult entertainment time and people bagging sun beds and not returning until much later, but it did have some good points.

The hotel is excellent, spacious clean room,, good food selection, professional staff and friendly. The reason for a low score was that I had my wallet stolen from my room while it was being cleaned with the door open, We think someone walked passed while the cleaner was in the bathroom or balcony and grabbed my wallet from the side table 😳, Don't leave any valuable on show . Keep blaming myself but you should be able to leave anything in your room with the fear of it being stolen.

Nice clean hotel, great for kids with the facilities and entertainment and the staff were very friendly. One issue I have, we were half board plus. We wanted to swap to take lunch instead of dinner in the evening and were charged 8 EUR per person each day we done this. Don't know how they can justify this, the lunch buffet is very basic which is fine and all we wanted as we like to go out in the evening whereas the evening buffet was massive, so to charge 8 EUR per person per day to take lunch instead of dinner when the dinner buffet would obviously cost a lot more to put on makes no sense and is a sneaky way of taking money off people. I have stayed in numerous other hotels in Las Americas such as the Mediterranean Palace and La Siesta and it was never an issue swapping dinner for lunch. I'd have nothing negative to say about our stay apart from that but it would probably put me off staying there again.
