The Brumder Mansion

I stayed here with my best friend for a fun staycation. I loved the history, the innkeeer Tom was attentive and friendly. We had an amazing breakfast in the morning. Room was clean, and our in room hot tub was clean and hot nice and hot. We were really looking forward to the fireplace and that didn't work so we were dissapointed. Will for sure go again (hopefully the fireplace works next time).

The friendly innkeeper met us and shared some of the history of the home. Our room was a two room suite with a bathroom and Jacuzzi tub. It was very spacious and filled with antiques. The breakfast was delicious. The home does show it's age and could use some sprucing up. TV, Direct TV and DVD player in our room with many movies to choose from. Around midnight it became very loud. Not sure if people were arriving home or if the theater had let out. The innkeepers were very attentive. Overall a good experience.

We came to town to meet family members from Boston at Miller Park for a 6:30 baseball game. The game went late and I sent word to the property that we would be late. Extra innings made it worse. The property Mgr was unhappy about it and let us know. The door lock routine was BS. Had to call my wife down to let me back in after parking the car. He prepared a biscuit breakfast and delivered it to our room with enough time to eat before our departure. He cream provided for the coffee curdled in the cup. We inquired about getting coffee early but that didn't seem available in the common area either. It served the purpose but if the property can only afford one person to do everything, then service will always suffer. Wouldn't discourage people from going here with warnings of the limitations but unlikely to return myself. Very beautiful and well cared for mansion.

Can't think of a single negative thing that we could say about our stay at the Brumder Mansion. If you are looking for a very rewarding, quiet and intimate couple's stay near Miller Park, this is the place.

Nice people to deal with nice place

Our stay at the Brumder Mansion was great! It's a beautiful house with all the amenities of a 4 star hotel and more! When we checked in we were given a brief tour of the mansion and told we were welcome to relax and enjoy the library and parlor. They had complimentary tea, coffee, pastries, soda and even beer and wine. Our room had a mini fridge and a fireplace. The entire house including our room was furnished with beautiful antiques. The breakfast was delicious and the service friendly and professional. I highly recommend a stay in this unique and inviting bed and breakfast!

We stayed here for 4 nights for a business trip. The mansion is beautiful and the staff delightful. The breakfast is a full, hot meal and wonderful. We saw most of the rooms and they are all large and very pretty. We were in a two room suite. All of the rooms have fireplaces and big tubs. My only complaint was the king bed in our room was too firm and hurt my back. We switched beds and the other was fine. Also the bathroom was a little dark for putting on makeup. We reported these things to the owner and I think he will fix them. Some of the other rooms were brighter. The surrounding neighborhood is okay but I wouldn't walk anywhere. It's about a $7 Uber ride to downtown. For the price, this is a bargain. I would definitely stay there again.

We truely enjoyed our stay in this beautiful, historical little gem. So much beauty and craftsmenship in woodwork and decor. Loved it.

Beautiful well preserved mansion with colorful history. Proprietor upon arrival gave us full history of rooms. Amenities included wine and beer coffee and tea with sweets available cookies. Room on 3rd door with full size couples jucuzzi tub. Room was clean and had full walk I shower could easily accommodate my wife and me. Breakfast include was very nice with eggs bacon yorgurt and fruit. Family environment with other guests in spacious dining room.

It's a great B&B in a not-so-great neighborhood. The suite we stayed in was well-appointed with a jetted tub plus a separate shower. It had a lot of old world charm and the best breakfast ever! The proprietor offers complimentary drinks (wine, beer, soda) to guests which is awesome and gives a fascinating tour of the building. I was leery about leaving my car in the parking lot given the condition of the neighborhood.
