Absolutely the best b&b around. Every room is different so you can keep coming back for more! The hospitality and homemade breakfast in the AM make it special. Love the new artwork for sale around the mansion. We will be back!!

AMAZING, beautiful room with a jet tub that fit both of us easily ❤ Wonderful homemade breakfast at a time of our choosing, complimentary wine, cookies and other treats. Quiet and cozy. Absolutely gorgeous mansion and woodwork with really interesting history. Just a wonderful stay overall.

We had a lovely time here. Tom and Julie are very hospitable and made us feel very welcome. It was like staying with family rather than being guests. We are vegans and the cook Tom and Julie bith made sure we had a vegan friendly breakfast to eat. They gave us a tour of the building and gave us some history which was very neat. We will definitely be going back again and recommending them to friends and family looking for a great place to stay.

This a give to my boyfriend. We really had a great time. Enjoyed the food. Was close to things that we wanted to visit. We would definitely go back again.

Fantastic staff, beautiful house, amazing rooms. A little pricey, considering the sketchy neighborhood, but we left with smiles on our faces!

If I were rating the building alone it would be a great review, no problem. The Brumder Mansion is just beautiful. I loved the character and the stories about the history of the building. That part was just great. My issue with this BNB comes down to mgmt. We booked our stay through hotels.com and we locked in a rate of $X. When we checked in we were asked to pay about $150 more. Luckily I was able to pull up my emailed receipt and told them no, this is what I was meant to pay. The first Tom was nice and said no problem, I don't manage the books, let me touch base with the right person and we'll resolve that later. OK fine. The next day, over breakfast, I asked Tom 2 if we could resolve the issue with the charges. He said something along the lines of yeah, I heard there was a little disagreement about the price. He then says, "Well why don't we split the difference and meet in the middle." Umm no. I'm not going to pay an extra $75 for a stay that I wouldn't have booked if it hadn't been the best advertised rate for that weekend. If they had an issue with the price that hotels.com gave me, they need to work it out with them. It was in no way my fault that they gave me that price and trying to get the customer to make up the difference is just inappropriate. I'm still dumbfounded days later.Other issues - uncomfortable bed, pillows were flat as pancakes and the sink in our room didn't drain. The neighborhood is not good.

The location was next to the Tripoli shirne and Pabst mansion so it is good for sightseeing. However, the neighborhood is not great so I would not go wandering around after dark. There was a large whirpool spa and a shower in the room. Complimentary beverages and cookies. Great breakfast. Wonderful owners. There is no elevator and the rooms are either on the second or third floors so it's not good if one has mobility problems. Otherwise, there was a special parking arrangement that was secure.
