The Brumder Mansion

Looking in line late afternoon for a hotel. Found the B&B thought we would give it a try. It was wonderful! We arrived after 7pm regular guy was already gone but Tom & Julie (owner) came over gave us the 'nickel" tour as he calls it. We really enjoyed his stories about the place. We had to leave early the next morning and Tim was up to fix breakfast for us, which was very good. Next morning had another wonderful breakfast by the regular chef which was also very good. We will definitely stay again when we are back in Milwakee!

This was my first stay at a B&B. My boyfriend and I were celebrating our anniversary and the Brumder Mansion was perfect for a romantic weekend. The mansion has a historic background thanks to Al Capone -- we were fascinated! A little disappointed to not have any spooky stories to share since we did learn that the mansion is haunted, or so they say. Breakfast was delicious and we loved that we could pick the time. Overall, it was a lovely stay!! My only tip to others planning a trip to Milwaukee and not knowing the area...keep in mind that the mansion is not located in the best neighborhood.

Great place to stay!! Would recommend very much! Tom was so friendly and informative, we would stay there again in a heart beat!!

The neighborhood was a little scary, but the mansion was well worth the scariness. It's going to revert I think, it's convenient to downtown and the room and food and historic decorations made it a worthwhile stay. The owner was super nice too.

The service was great and the extras was just as good. Except we had a Bat flying around in the room in the AM. How the Bat came in the room nobody knows. The staff called the owner and he took care of it. The mansion needs some upgrades and the old items need to be dusted.

Great staff, great ownership, owners of Brumder Mansion were there as well as staff and the owner Tom gave us a tour of the mansion. The whole experience was great.

Very comfortable beds. Owners were super nice. Only complaint was the lighting. I realize they are trying to keep it original but it was really hard for three women to get ready in one bathroom with so-so lighting. Other than that we enjoyed staying there and knowing about the lighting would bring our own bright lamp with us. We would stay there again if we are ever in Milwaukee again.

Check-in is 4pm and we arrived at about 4:15pm. We had to wait over half an hour while the room was cleaned. Cleanliness in the room could have been better. Lamps in the room were not plugged in and it was difficult to find a place to plug them in. Our room was spacious.

Chose not to stay. The neighborhood was too scary.

Friendly staff made us feel at home. They gave us a tour of the old mansion at check-in, including showing where the old tunnel to a neighboring property was sealed off. Allegedly a hang out of AL Capone. Beautiful place / room. Delicious breakfast. Would love to stay there again if we visit Milwaukee again.
