We liked the room a lot. For all the things that could be upgraded, they were done very well. The only issues were with the very noisy AC unit and no freezer section in the frig. We take food with us on our road trips and value a place to refreeze our ice bricks.
Overall the place is run down, inside and out. The parking lot is in poor shape, the rooms need updating and repair, and the pillowcase had something crusty on it that I really don't want to know what it was. There was a large group partying at the pool area until midnight, yelling and screaming, which took multiple calls to the front desk to respond to. The mattress was actually nice. If you must stay in Santee, I would check out the hotels on the west side of I-95 instead.
My room had a bad odor. The washcloths were dingy . The guest (adults and children)were very loud. They were running up and down the hallway, screaming and laughing out loud until 3am. I couldn't sleep.
Do not waste your time or money. This was a horrible stay for us and certainly not as advertised. Our room was dirty including molded coffee in the coffee maker, dirty floors, and bathroom. The bed linens appeared to be clean. We intended to stay several more nights. However, we went to the front desk and were advised to stop in the front desk in the morning and check out, indicating that we would not be staying. We did exactly that at 6:00 a.m. 4 days later a charge hit our card. I called the Clarion Inn Santee I-95 and had to ARGUE for my refund. Not to mention that we used our debit card and the 3 night stay charge caused an overdraft. The Clarion Inn Santee I-95 refused to reimburse for the overdraft charge. I certainly would not recommend a stay here. Nor will we stay here again.
Everything was nice And clean everybody was nice an helpful even the staff
The hotel is not up to part. Then I asked for an 2hour extension and when I was in the shower someone attempted to come in my room I’m glad I had the chain on the door, no one knocked or announced themselves. Yes I am very upset about that and plus I am a young lady with a disability so they are not aware of the American disability act. I’m totally upset.
For those that are on the road, theres a bar right next to the hotel, fair prices drinks, Bojangles and gas station right nextdoor.
All was very good
The first room they gave us was terrible. Heavy smoke smell and was supposed to be nonsmoking,no bathroom light,a used towel and soap by the sink and when I went to call the desk, I realized the phone wasn’t working bec there was no wire attached to it!I was ready to cut my losses and run.Went to desk and he gave me another room that was recently renovated. Much better but there was a used soap in the shower. A turn off. The AC was very noisy too.
There was urine on the bathroom floor and on the bathroom door , you could see where it had dried.
