"Typical problems for a budget motel"

It wasn’t an unpleasant stay because we had pretty low expectations, but it was pretty typical for a budget-priced motel. Upkeep and design in our room weren’t great: the sink didn’t drain very fast, one of the plug sockets didn’t work, the drapes hung down in front of the A/C unit so that we had to use something heavy to hold them back so the A/C would blow out into the room, the pool was closed (at the end of July), and one of the two key cards they gave us didn’t work. Also, from what I could tell, the room wasn’t well-cleaned. It was pretty clear that the sink had been wiped down with a towel rather than cleaned with cleaning fluid. There was a small dead bug on the floor in the bathroom. On the other hand, the wireless internet worked fine. The door to our room was inside the building, which is always nice. The continental breakfast was adequate. There was hardly anyone in the motel the night we stayed there. I don’t know if conditions would be worse or better when it was busy.
