The Bavarian Manor Hotel

It was quiet and private.

It could have been a bit more maintained.

The staff were friendly and responsive.

The mattresses and pillows were very uncomfortable. Well water was not good and had an odor.

We stayed there for a second time in the past few years. Nice property, friendly stuff. Fairly clean room. Room had all of the needed amenities. Breakfast had some pastries, beverages and fruits.

TV did not work. Breakfast was different from the one we had before…

The room was very small, almost claustrophobic. The bed was very narrow and short. The room looked run down and old in spite of the modern window treatment. For the price we expected something much better and roomy. There was no staff available to check us in or give us the key to the room. Although the front door to the hotel was open, some random man, not a staff member, tried to get us checked in and get a key after calling the owner/manager. We went out to dinner and the door was still open and no staff at the desk. We believe the front door was not locked at all during the night. The door to the room assigned to us would not lock properly one could just push it in and open it. So we had to prop a chair before going to sleep to prevent someone from breaking in. It felt very insecure and scary. The TV never worked because it was not connected to the internet or WiFi and there weren’t any instructions on how to connect it or make it work.

The staff that greeted us was very sweet and helpful. The breakfast was good with fresh fruit and nice muffins. The outside porch is a wonderful place to enjoy the grounds and singing birds. The beds were very comfortable.

I didn't like the fact that there was no night staff. The whole building needs updating. Lighting, sprinkler system, door locks, etc. For folks who like historical Inns, this one has lots of memorabilia on the walls which is fun to read.
