The location and the rooms were lovely and clean.

The bar and restaurant are closed but we knew that going in. It would be great to see it fully functioning. The sulphur smell when we used the bathroom and shower was a little off putting but we know this happens in this area

Entering the room I found 2 stink bugs crawling on the wall, which is surprising to find in the dead of winter. Water in the bathroom gives a sulfur smell. Their in-room brochure mentions a nearby sulfur springs as part of their history to explain the smell. Their website did not make a similar effort. Paid extra for a room with a fireplace, fireplace did not work. Cable in all the rooms is shut off, but for some reason the cable works in the bar area. Their website mentions cable reception, so that's a lie. Service is minimal with no apparent staff available past 2:00 PM The breakfast service was pretty good, however solely due to the cook that was on duty. I would have been more forgiving if the owner didn't lie to me that he would give me a partial refund for the problems. Which led to me having to perform a charge back. Owner claimed they were selling the place, which is not an excuse for the poor service.

The hotel and restaurant have gone out of business. They just haven’t told guests who booked and paid in advance.

The staff was very friendly, but they were significantly understaff. I felt bad for the one restaurant staff cooking and taking orders.

We booked a room with a fire place but it was broken. There was no cable on the TV so we could not utilize that at as well. The water smelled due to sulfur which was not advertised until we arrived. We stayed during winter and there was a huge roach in the room and my sister's room had bugs as well. When we complained to the owner, he told us, "Yes, there are bugs". He offered us a partial refund but never did, so we will be doing a charge back today. One of the worse bed and breakfast stays.

Everything was clean, and the rooms were comfortable/homey. The staff was very nice to us. The on premise/attached restaurant had excellent food. We had drinks at their bar as well. The lake out back was nice to sit at and relax.
