THE MACHIYA KAZAHAYA

Great location in central Kyoto, Check in is easy and the luggage transfer is very helpful. Room was very comfy and had good facilities and information on the local area.

They didn't mention they don't have lift and their staircase is too narrow and straight, hard to carry big luggage to upstairs.

Very quiet place but at the same time very convenient in accessing convenient stores and restaurant nearby Very nice machiya, we love it, The only down side is very dusty in the room, can see lots of dust floating in the space.

The room was spacious for our family of four, I liked there is a dining area in the room where we can sit. The Machiya is beautifully restored with a modern touch. We stayed for 3 nights, even though no cleaning service, they provided extra towels for us to change and extra amenities if needed. The kitchen was fully equipped, we were able to cook a simple meal and amenities like green teas and coffee provided. Check in staff were super helpful and friendly.

Just have to be aware that check in needs to be done at front desk office at a different location to the Machiya, next to the Kyoto station. However they can send your luggage to the Machiya for you but you have to make your way there by yourself.
