"Fun way to see the Grand Canyon!"

10.0

My husband and I had a wonderful time in Williams at the Grand Canyon Hotel & Railway Thanksgiving weekend. The room was spacious and comfortable. The bar had some delicious seasonal drinks and local drafts. The train ride was fun and comfortable (we had the first class car) with great views of the scenery and snacks both ways. Sheryl was very helpful and made sure we had a good plan for seeing the Grand Canyon and still getting back to the train in time. The hotel was already done up for Christmas with fabulous decorations and the Polar Express. The only two things I would note are 1) eating locations at the Grand Canyon Village are limited and your time at the Canyon is short. Bring a few snacks & eat at the train cafe car on your return trip, or stay the night at one of the hotels at the Village so you get more time at the Grand Canyon. And 2) if you go on Thanksgiving, don’t plan on eating dinner in Williams. The Fred Harvey restaurant and the hotel bar both served food, but all the restaurants in town were closed by the time we returned from the Grand Canyon. We would definitely do this again!

"Fun times at the Grand Canyon Railway and Hotel"

10.0

If you are looking for a true adventure take the Grand Canyon train into the Grand Canyon and go back in time. You will have access to great service and entertainment on the train and once you get to the park. nature takes over.

"Birthday trip"

10.0

The property is very beautiful. It is neat that there is a train ride attached to the packages of the hotel. The beds are fairly small and I had a very hard time falling asleep. Other than that the hotel is very clean and the staff is very friendly I enjoyed my stay.

"Hotel & Train before the Grand Canyon"

10.0

We were able to check in early after a long day of travel. Our three rooms were booked close together for the family. Room was clean with the standard offerings. Shower pressure is low but don't have to wait for hot water. Grounds were being decorated for the Polar express so lots of lights to see at night. We picked up our train tickets and luggage tags for the next days travel. Fred Harvey buffet is alright, but there are other choices within five minute walk from the hotel. Ate at Spencers which is their pub in the hotel. Good food to fill the belly. Great location to investigate Route 66.

"Stuart & Debra Trip Review"

Great facilities and staff at the Grand Canyon Railway Station/Hotel! We did not experience any issues or bad employees while on this trip. The hotel was well maintained and the railroad trip to the canyon was everything we expected and more.

"A Grand Step in Time"

10.0

This was my second trip to The Grand Canyon are and Route 66. The first trip was with a friend that was ill and his adopted son. Unfortunately we weren’t able to go to the Grand Canyon. This trip was with my son. I thoroughly enjoyed the stay and the experience. Seeing this beautiful park in two days is a study in futility but we managed to do as much as possible.

"Need more room options"

8.0

The Railway Hotel & train were nice. Could have done without the childish train robbery on the return trip (in the train car that didn't allow children). Would have liked a room upgrade on the Maswik Lodge, one with a porch & without the dirty linens & rollaway beds stored outside my room door suring my 2-night stay. It was convenient to not have to deal with a car during our stay at either hotel.

"Could be better"

6.0

Was mostly good. Signage and communication could be much better. Housekeeping attempting to enter my room while I'm sleeping, WITH the do not disturb notice on my door was a huge deterrent. Likely won't stay here again if I choose to ride the train again.

"Checkout less expensive tickets. You will be just as happy."

6.0

The train ride was fun. The entertainment friendly and involved the audience. There are several levels of tickets. We choose the more expensive dome tickets and regretted doing so. There are no views above your head. Everything is visible out to the sides. The snacks served are available in the cafe car available to all. We had 4 adult tickets about $1100.00. That would buy a lot of snacks. I plan to stay overnight at village next time. Trip from Williams to canyon is 2.5 hours each way. Very short time at Canyon.
