Aguamar Apartamentos, Los Cristianos Downtown

The worst shower I have ever used. You might as well just place it on the bathroom floor. No shower basin that had any depth. The whole floor was just swimming no matter which way we used it. Including hardly putting it down to just a trickle of water. Breakfast very basic.

We decided to stay here for the location more then anything. The hotel was very basic, the best very hard and quite uncomfortable however, for how much we were in the hotel we lived with it. The hotel is central, 10 minute max walk to the beach, 30minute walk to las Americas or 8€ in a taxi. Very close to taxi rank which are situated at the next hotel down (Tenerife sur) 1 minute walk. It is opposite a row of small pubs which a nice to watch the football and put on a cheeky bet.

First time at hotel, very nice, clean, stafff were friendly especially the female lifeguard. Location was good as it was right at the end of the resort but only a short walk to the beach. The hotel was very quiet.

The Aguamar was generally very clean. On our first night we discovered ants coming out of the back shower tap, behind the tiles! When we reported this the next morning we were given an apology and immediately offered another room without any drama. The staff we met were all very friendly and we had few concerns through the rest of our stay. The beds were very good. Aspects of the lounge would benefit from some updating. Generally we had a very good stay! We used few of the hotel facilities so cant comment much. It would be a fine base if you are on a bit of a budget.

Very convenient for bars and restaurants, also well-stocked supermarket. Centre of Los Cristianos 20min walk with good shops and cafes. 20 min walking distance to beaches. Good promenade along coast which also good for cycling and running. Bike hire at complex. Table tennis offered at €3.60 for half an hour. Never had to pay for table tennis before. Equipment was in bad condition. Apartment often noisy at night with people returning between 3 and 6am. Road on side of hotel noisy. Receptionists not helpful. Lifeguards very amiable. 2 cockroaches appeared in our apartment during our stay. Have to pay for sunbed mattresses daily at pool. Beach sunbeds and umbrellas expensive at €12 for 2 beds and an umbrella. Apartments spacious and well supplied with crockery,cutlery&pans. Shame we didnt have a sunny balcony at any time of day. Would have liked one bedroon flat to have had double bed.

The old adage of 'you get what you pay for' is hugely applicable here. For the price we paid we can't really have any complaints, it cannot be argued that The Aguamar does not present great value for money. It does what it says on the tin, a solid place to put your head down at night. An ok hotel, with ok services in an ok area. The hotel is clean, the pool is decent, its a short'ish walk to the beach (approx 15 mins) but the hotel staff do not buy into delivering good customer service, its almost like they know you haven't paid much and don't feel the need to be helpful or polite. As previously mentioned, for the price paid the hotel presents absolutely great value for money. If you just need a place to sleep after a day in the sunshine then The Aguamar is perfect. However, if you are looking for a bit of luxury this may not be the hotel for you.

Although the room type we asked for upon booking was not available upon checking-in (we were asked to wait 90 minutes for the room to be cleaned), we were quickly given an alternative room. The kitchenette included everything required for a self-catering stay, the lounge area was spacious, and the TV - although quite small - was functional and had a decent variety of English channels. The bathroom was clean and stocked with basic essentials. The bedroom had ample wardrobe and drawer storage and the beds were surprisingly comfortable, with memory foam pillows and mattresses. The Aguamar is approx. 15 minutes walk from the promenade/beach area so it is a good spot to be in.

A lovely hotel with helpful and friendly staff. A nice pool and bar area. Comfortable and clean room. Reasonable price for the room and food and drinks. Will definitely stay at Aguamar again.

Well appointed hotel and scrupulously clean. Reasonably central and only a short walk to the beach and harbour.

My boyfriend and I had a lovely time in Tenerife. This hotel is not the Hilton but it does what it says on the tin. Very clean, friendly staff, satisfying breakfast and nice pool. Only negative was the bed, it was a bit hard for me. I believe you can ask to get it changed but I only found that out at the end of the trip.
