Shangri-La Yanuca Island, Fiji

It was stunningly beautiful and very family oriented. We went as a family group and it was amazing!

The deck at the main pool area could do with some maintenance. It was starting to rot in places (sounds worse than it looked!) It was also a little frustrating as a coeliac as the food options were not always clear. Having said that - I would not hesitate to go back to this amazing property! There is just so much to do - including horse riding, free kayaking and paddle boarding, a magnificent spa, a cool mini golf course, swimming in the pools, snorkelling, beautiful swimming beaches, great rooms, excellent fireshow (best I have ever seen!) and so much more!!!

We loved our stay. Communication leading up to our holiday was great, and the resort was really accommodating in making sure all of our rooms were next to each other as requested. It’s a large resort with plenty to do, so it’s great for families, and it’s also close enough to Sigatoka if you want to head into the markets or have a look around. The adults-only restaurants were a real highlight and gave the parents a chance for a bit of a break. Breakfast was fantastic with lots of choice, and the beds were super comfy. Overall, we had a great time and wouldn’t hesitate to stay again.

The wait staff in a couple of the family restaurants could have been a bit friendlier and sometimes seemed a little over it. That said, every other staff member we encountered was lovely, warm and welcoming.

Kids club, activities , black Marlin restaurant

Not sure what’s happening and if it’s just this week but the service has been the worst we have ever had. - drinks at dinner - didn’t even arrive twice -restaurants - if you don’t book before arrival you will find almost all are fully booked out -buffet - lots of variety great for kids but food was really cold, health hazard. Breakfast was passable. Hygiene I saw was very questionable. Loud and the atmosphere is chaotic everywhere. - kids club was ok but just overall the staff at the resort don’t seem to want to be here at all. -booked a jet ski tour which was really fun and also ecotrax which was so wonderful for kids. -black marlin which we pre booked was lovely food. -service around the pool you may have to wait an hour for a drink sometimes more. If I was deciding on a resort still , I would definitely give this one a miss due to service , definitely wouldn’t return.

It had all the variety of offerings that we would expect for a top class resort. The restaurant facilities are top class. Breakfast was a real highlight for our whole family. Our accommodation was spacious, well located and outstandingly well serviced. We were especially impressed by the genuine, open friendliness and helpfulness of the resort staff. We would definitely return to this resort, even though we are not big resort type people.

We only have one recommendation. There is almost no (zero) bench type seating anywhere around this large and widespread resort. A few benches around the facility would be a hugely impactful improvement. We enjoy snorkelling in Pacific Island reefs but unfortunately, this resort cannot boast being blessed with a flourishing coral reef ecosystem. This is not a criticism of the resort but a reality of a shallow reef environment. Irrespective of this, the resort has a wealth of offerings, including a well maintained and interesting golf course and a variety of activities for adults and children.

We absolutely loved all the staff, kids club, rooms were always cleaned. Can’t fault as our stay was perfect.
