IFA Altamarena by Lopesan Hotels

There is no way on this planet that this is a 4* hotel. Only if you compare to Butlins!! Hotel is dated and in dire need of an upgrade, Air-conditioning was usless, set at 0c room still 26c. 2 plug sockets in room, 1 in bathroom 1 in living/sleeping area, ,Dirty cups/glasses left in corridors for days on end. Restaurant was pure chaos, not enough staff to clean tables and re-set for next ppl. The food was always cold, and I know AI can get repetitive however, pork for lunch, pork for dinner, nealry every single day of the week is a bit much. The only good thing about this hotel is the entertainment guy, the only happy member of staff in the entire complex. I am no holiday snob and yes you get what you pay for, but this is the worst place I have ever stayed (Bulins excluded)

Where do i start with this hotel. Location is good for the beach shops etc. The hotel its self is not so good. THE ROOMS Defo need an upgrade very basic clean but basic only 3 plug sockets in the bedroom 1 is for the fridge one is behind the sofa and the other in-between the 2 single beds so bring an extension lead. The beds and pillows are very comfy. The shower over bath was powerful but you had to be careful as the water got extremely hot then went cold RESTAURANT in our opinion this could of been improved the themed nights weren't very good chinese night was spring rolls and a very watery curry. The Mexican night consisted off deep fried jalapeño and cream cheese. Tortilla chips and tasteless sauces. ENTERTAINMENT only one guy doing all the activities he was quite good tho. BAR STAFF There wasn't enough staff on at the start of the night meaning massive queues quite a few of the young male staff were extremely rude and abrupt particularly elier (think that's how his name was spelt.)On a few occasions he actually argued with us. (Most of the staff were good just the few let your hotel down) We asked for a dissarono and pepsi zero and a bottle off beer to be told only 2 drinks were allowed (I get the rule but when u get a spirit and a mixer you would class that as one drink ) ALL INCLUSIVE PREMIUM we upgraded to premium before we came to get the top shelf drinks and bottles of soft drinks well worth the upgrade. The thing that let this down was the fact you only had 2 places to get your drinks the pool bar till 7 then the entertainment place till 11. No bar in lobby so if bad weather you had to go outside to get a drink. We booked this hotel as we had stayed in the same chain of hotels in gran canaria thinking the food etc would be something similar how wrong we were. Would we return that's a NO

The room is very noisy, we asked for a garden view and was given a room overlooking a busy road with cars and lorries going past all through the night beeping their horns, The windows are not adequate to stop the noise only stayed here one night and haven't had any sleep, Asked for help at reception, they offered us a move for €50 a night, the customer service is absolutely terrible, think twice before booking especially if you ask for a garden view.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for a week in Jandía, Fuerteventura. Overall, we had a nice holiday, but there were a few positives and negatives worth mentioning. The hotel itself was very clean and well maintained. The grounds were absolutely impeccable and clearly cared for by hardworking staff. Our room was lovely and the beds were really comfortable, which made for a great night’s sleep. However, the housekeeping wasn’t the best – our sheets weren’t changed during the entire week, which was a little disappointing. The food was actually very good. As with most all-inclusive hotels it did become a bit repetitive, but everything we tried was tasty and there was always something to eat. The staff throughout the hotel work incredibly hard and most of them were very friendly and welcoming, although some were definitely warmer than others. Entertainment in the evenings was okay but quite limited – it was usually only around two hours per night and not particularly memorable. One thing that might be important for other travellers to know is that the hotel – and much of Jandía in general – is very German-orientated. We didn’t realise this before we arrived. If you’re English and travelling with children, it might not feel like the best fit. We personally enjoy interacting with people and being part of the atmosphere when we travel, and we found that a bit difficult here. That said, the beach is absolutely stunning. We walked for miles along it every day and it was definitely one of the highlights of the trip. Morro Jable, which is a short walk away, is also fantastic with some great restaurants and bars. My husband is football-mad, and we managed to find a brilliant place showing the Premier League and Champions League – Buddha Bar near Burger King. The staff there were fantastic, really accommodating, and very friendly. Overall, we had a nice break and enjoyed parts of our stay, but it’s probably not somewhere we would return to. If we came back to Fuerteventura, we would likely choose a different resort that suits us a little better.

So what can I say about this hotel well nothing really nice apart from the food and that is that if you are ENGLISH PLEASE PLEASE Avoid this hotel it s 99.9 all rude and disgusting German,s they made us feel isolated not wanted some asked was we ENGLISH soon as I reply yes they would turn backs on us stare at us we knew they were making comments about us in there language we was supposed to have gone to Pahoas in Cyprus but because of the war which started had to choose an alternative holiday moulding on bed sheets little insects crawling all over bathroom and bed sheets never had bedding changed the whole week was there and only one set of towels changed clad we brought our own towels air conditioning never worked light switch fell off next to mirror on wall exposing live wires hotel kept more clean outside than inside there was only 3 ENGLISH couples in the whole hotel and they changed their Cyprus holiday last minute to here and too hated every minute they was I could not wait to get back home I do have videos made of the little insects but some reason cannot upload them believe me they was all over our toothbrush s bedding bathroom floor sink towels absolute s___hole John

Very good location for beach walks Morro Jable centre Wetlands and lighthouse Scenic views Close to shops buses and taxi rank Relaxing atmosphere around pool and hotel for chilling out and relaxing Lovely pool area and surroundings with a variety of cactuses snd stunning colourful hisbiscus flowers. Grey heron birds nest on the rooftops and visit the gardens. The pool bar serves cruzcampo beer wines cocktails and spirits and the snack bar serves a variety of salads chips pizza ect The dining area is beautiful with a good atmosphere. The reception team and staff overall are pleasant and attentive. The manager in the restaurant always greeted us both in the morning and evening in Spanish which is a nice touch. We particulary enjoyed sitting by the bay windows at the front overlooking the attractive tropical gardens . The rooms were clean and tidy . The rooms by the pool are worth paying the extra for as they have stunning views of the gardens and the Atlantic Ocean. They are quieter too. The evening bar is great. Its dark and good for chilling out. A good variety of enntertainment snd music each evening. The beer is self sevice and pours out well. A good quality cruzcampo brand. All other alcohol drinks are served by the wonderful staff who are always friendly. The moscoskya vodka is excellent. Overall we had a very pleasant stay here and we thank the management and staff for providing us with a lovely holiday experience.
