Beautifully located and interesting architecture but the facilities are not up to 5- star standards. Stained carpets, worn out furniture, filthy shower curtains, ordinary food, all of this at very high prices. The view on the forum is not worth it.

The staff is exceptional, very friendly. Telma was especially competent and nice. We loved the location. The rooms, while small (understandable) were nicely furnished. The beds, however, were not the most comfortable. However, that was just a small issue. Overall, we recommend this hotel due to location and staff.

Lovely property in a fabulous location. Dinner and breakfast were both very good. We were celebrating our anniversary and there was a bottle of champagne and some snacks in our room when we arrived. Very nice!

Impeccable historic hotel owned by the government and run by the Pestana Group. Staff cordial and helpful, location very central to historic disstrict and place beautiful and immaculate. Parking is limited by available on site. Can't say enough about the place!
