Grand Hotel Llandudno

It's basic accommodation, so dont expect too much. If that doesn't bother you, then you'll be happy staying there. No housekeeping service or much maintenance in general, but you get what you pay for. The breakfast is very basic and bland, not worth mentioning, to be honest. I was happy with the room, basic but perfect location. :)

Hotel was clean and tidy and staff friendly, The bed and pillow were uncomfortable and showing signs of age. Despite being a guest at the hotel we were declined an evening meal because the dining room was fully booked so had to find alternative restaurant

Having read some of the reviews of the Grand Hotel I was a little concerned, but I stuck with it as the coach company Majestic, have never let me down Check in on arrival, though busy, was relatively quick and very easy. Lifts efficient to my third floor room and I opened the door wondering what I had been given! Was i lucky? Are others too picky and just like writing bad reviews? I had booked a room for solo use and no upgrades.....What i got was a spacious double room, ensuite, shower over bath (very efficient), 2 chairs, desk ,TV, plenty of drawer storage. And the view...balcony with unbroken views of the Irish sea, the whole beach and prom, and behind rose the imposing Snowdonia. Bedding crisp and clean, pillows like new, fairly recently decorated, nearly new carpet. Walking distance to prom and town even fir limited mobility like me. Breakfast was all you can eat and as good as I've had, evening meals, being picky, a little bland and not a great deal of choice, having said that three of the four mains, nice crispy fishcakes, chicken Kiev, and cottage pie were luckily excellent. Entertainment was the usual Bingo (not my scene), and a couple of standard singers. A few seats with higher seating could be useful in the public as it was all comfortable but very low, those that know.....the sort you can't stand from and have to either roll off or be hauled out by others! No noise at night....good sleep. Maybe I was lucky? Just don't necessarily let reviews effect where you want to go. At the end of the day you get what you pay for, and if on a budget either be thankful you have been lucky or accept you are still paying a fraction of what some other hotels are charging. As for Majestic tours....Excellent as always, driver John great as were the excursions. I would not travel with anyone else (7th time and still two more to come this year!)

Disappointed no option to ask for decaffeinated coffee sachets in room. Or refuse biscuits

Beds felt like you were sleeping on a hospital bed, the corridors were squeaky, random alarm at 5.45am, police outside at 12am blue lights kept us awake, doors slamming constantly, although shower was good, and the quiet area to have a couple of drinks was nice, the lounge was kinda like a care home. We're very friendly staff.

This must have been a truly magnificent building when it was new, now it's a bit tired, there are plastic conduits stuck onto the old walls with high ceilings that take the power to the crystal chandeliers. The green carpet does not go with the turquoise ceiling and battle ship grey paint on the wood chip wallpaper, but it all shows the history of the building and I find the result charming, it has character.

Room was disgusting, told staff it was and they said they will have a look. Came back and was still the exact same requested a room change they said no. Requested a refund and we ended up getting told non refundable so was £144 out of pocket and had to fork out more money to get a different hotel. DO NOT STAY HERE

Fantastic location and good entertainment. Very poor tv reception- very limited channels available. I found one of the reception staff very unhelpful unfortunately.

We had a lovely nights stay here. The staff were great, the room was basic but exactly what we needed. Its a shame the chain that owns this hotel is allowing it to become run down and dated. Regardless, we would stay here again.
