Britannia Daresbury Park Hotel & Spa Warrington

After reading the not so good reviews on trip advisor, I was in the area and decided to check hotel before confirming booking. The receptionist young lady ( Lewis) couldn’t have been more polite and helpful. She let me view a couple of rooms and reserved the one I chose. On arriving for my stay the check in was politely sorted and my room key given. The room was a little tired, bathroom needed some attention. The Cleaners/ housekeeper urgently needs lessons in how to clean, the standard was not v good, the accumulation of dust/dirt around the towel rail was almost unbelievable and quite disgusting. The stains on the chairs in the room didn’t encourage you to sit in them! Overall the standards could be better with just a little more guidance in the cleanliness area.

The check took approximately 30 minutes with only 1 person on reception

It needs better cleaners as my room had not been touched for days. Coffee all over the walls floor needed a good Hoover.

It was a quiet location, just a little to far to any local shops and amenities

Grubby walls, flaky woodwork, wardrobe, cabinet. poor standard of soap/shower gel. Lampshades don’t fit the bedside lamp, no plugs at side of bed, I got the room cheap but still expect a certain standard from a large chain hotel. I didn’t use any facilities in the hotel

Dirty, falling apart, smoked in rooms... just the grimmest hotel I've ever stayed in.

Disappointing based on the photos on the web site. Generally tired & in need of updating. Staff very helpful as was not impressed with my initial room, felt like a prison cell one very small window high up looking on to a wall, & sorted a move without question.

I’ve stayed in many hotels and this is by far the worst. The pictures on line really do this place justice. The hotel is grubby, they have smoking rooms but the non smoking rooms still Smell of stale cigarettes. Everywhere you go there is crumbs on the floors. To top things off we came for a family weekend away with our 1 year old daughter and when we came back to the room after dinner ect the electronics on the door had broke so for 2 hours we had to wait with a very tired baby and no nappies as everything was locked in our room. It was 1am by the time went to sleep. Everyone kept saying sorry but no one was rectifying the situation. They put us in a room that they found to be empty for The last 15 mins where there was broken glass on the bathroom floor. It’s also now the morning and I’m still waiting for a cot and a blanket for my daughter. There is minimal members of staff and when o would ask certain staff a question they would tell Us their shift has ended and to ask someone else. They have no 24 hour maintenance staff for these kind of issues that must occur. This hotel was voted the 5th worst hotel in the country. I dread to think I what the others are like! The food states that it is a bar and grill restaurant. We arrived and all there was was vegetable soup and a very dry roast dinner. We was seated near the reception and had to sit and listen to 3 members of the waiting staff have an argument about who was using the till and why she didn’t want to work on it.

Old hotel. £40 on room service, cold and disgusting. Dessert nice. Room ok just old. Left early for emergency tried getting a refund, Hotels.com agreed to refund just need written confirmation from hotel however, neither of us can get through to actual hotel just get cut off after a few rings. Disgusting customer service would never return.
