SL Hotel Santa Luzia – Elvas

Breakfast lovely. Staff fantastic. Pool great.

Dog barking outside our room. Dog belongs to the hotel. It’s chained up, so not pleasant. And, very noisy in the morning. But poor dog.

It was lovely to find so much history still maintained in the building and the staff were justly proud of this. We understand this was the first Pousada in Portugal but now now longer classified as one. Everyone couldn’t have been more helpful.

It was a bit of a walk to the old walled city but not too bad. The restaurant in the hotel wasn’t open on Monday.

The staff is very friendly and the space is very clean. The breakfast is awesome. There were not many people, so we got to chill a bit in the pool. Is also very central, so you can go anywhere walking

The only reason I don't give them a 10 is because the walls are not soundproof and I could hear the guest in the next room snoring and the dog downstairs barking all night, so it was a bit difficult to fall asleep.

Excellent location, 10min walk to historical center.Very charming family hotel where staff treats you with a smile and makes you feel welcome immediately. Reception and restaurant staff are proud of their hotel, their city and country and share this with you.Comfy rooms with a Alentejo touch. Restaurant food and wines were traditional and very tasty. Breakfast buffet with eggs on order taken care of by the owner , a classy gentlemen. My wife and I spent lots of our life’s travels in hotels. This one is special and we are looking forward to an excuse for coming back 💖

The wifi was very bumpy…

The location is perfect for the castle and the square and the fantastic Aquaduct. The staff are fantastic with their language skills and their knowledge of Elvas. Also a really good breakfast.

architectural dream from 1930 … John and Sara were extremely helpful . would go back any time. breakfast is the best and dinner at jail house resto was spectacular.
