A hotel that is comfortable with it’s history and not trying to compete with the usual glass and marble opposition. A real family atmosphere.

The evening meal was disappointing in that it lacked a sauce or a bowl of salad with dressing.

"A great place to stay, with lovely staff and just outside the old city walls."

The room was a good size, the bed was large and comfortable. The breakfast was lovely and set us up for the day. The staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful.

We asked a member of the cleaning staff to fill the shower gel in the shower but it did not happen. Fortunately, we had our own shower gel so not a major issue. We didn't call or speak to reception about this.

A lovely hotel with plenty of charm (typical Portuguese hand-painted furniture and bathroom tiles). Great sized room. A lovely bar and dining area. Perfect walking distance from the centre of the town. Super comfy bed and pillows.
