Ala Mar by the Sea

Location and staff were great.

Our room promised a spa but there was no a working one in the room. Just and old jacuzzi that no longer worked. Extra Bed was springs with no cushions and the room was dirty and in need of repairs.

Great location, on the beach. Probably used to be a nice place, but it is run down.

This should have been our first clue. When we checked in, there was a line of people with no one at the front desk. Those parties were complaining about the A/C not working and that you could open the door with a credit card. We booked two rooms. As we were taking our bags in, there were transients walking around and someone was bringing a hooker back to there room. The rooms were hot, so we turned the A/C on right away and hoped for the best. There was no fan in the room. One room, the windows didn’t have screens and the screens in the other room were broken because someone had likely tried breaking into them. The fridge wasn’t plugged in and the tv didn’t have a remote. The parking was so small. There wasn’t enough spots for even 1 car per room. The lot was only big enough to support maybe 12 cars but definitely no trucks. You will get door dinged. We went to our scheduled dinner only to come back to the same transient walking around and the the A/C not working. The whole area smelled of marajuana. We went to the front desk to check out as no one was going to sleep in that heat and no one was going to sleep as we were wondering if it would be broken into. No one was working the front desk. We called the phone number multiple times but it goes straight to voicemail. Eventually someone called back. I explained our situation. I wasn’t staying there with my children. They said sorry, we don’t offer partial refunds.

The location, ocean view, the beach was crossing the street. Nice terrace and relaxing place.

The hitter/calefacción does not work,(was not battery problem). We asked for blankets but we received a portable hitter the second night. Also the check in line was to long, they need to hire more personal. There is a women wearing to “many hats”, resolving many and any situation by herself.

The staff were very friendly.

The check-in process took too long, an hour. After a long day of sightseeing, I arrived at my room around 10 PM, and it hadn't been cleaned yet; it was very dirty. Changing rooms took another half hour.
