"Nice but some magic has been lost"

8.0

Our room with a private pool was perfect. Tastefully decorated with an incredible AC system. The room and pool were cleaned daily and everything was replenished. We ate at all the restaurants except for one day when we ventured out. It was pricey but to be expected and decent. We found the staff to be outstanding especially Monique and Jun. I learned a lot of local history just from chatting with Monique. The grounds were lovely as always but was sad to see that Turtle Grove beach has no sand currently due to erosion from winter storms. Hopefully Mother Nature will give it back soon. If I could offer a few criticisms for the goal of improving the experience: The “do not disturb sign” needs to be respected. We were enjoying our pool one day at around 1:30pm when a group of landscapers showed up on our cottage grounds with mowers, blowers and weed whackers. It was incredibly loud and long and disturbed our relaxation. We called the front desk and they went away eventually. We did appreciate that. Secondly, we had stayed in the past and found the tea service greatly diminished in its offerings. It used to be much more generous and we found it kind of skimpy. Finally, I wish they would cordon off the swim area at Long Bay Beach. People on boats pull up right next to you as you are swimming to go eat at Breezes and it seems like a safety hazard. Most of the boaters seemed respectful but there were a few that had very loud Cancun party vibes and that kind of was a bummer and clashed with the past refinement of the resort.

"Not What it Used to Be (or even close)."

4.0

We stayed at Cambridge Beaches 20 years ago and had such a wonderful experience that we always planned to return. Unfortunately, this visit made it clear that the resort is no longer what it once was. The most disappointing aspect was the food. Dining options were limited, especially considering that private events occupied resort venues on two of our five nights. What was available was consistently overpriced and often not prepared to order. Beverage pricing was equally surprising—a Corona for $12—and cocktails were $22 while being pre-made in batches. We were specifically told by staff that cocktails are prepared ahead of time, meaning there is no ability to customize drinks despite premium pricing. The property itself feels tired and neglected. Gardens were overgrown, the once-charming chef's garden had gone to seed, and many of the white roofs were visibly dirty. The attention to detail that once distinguished the resort seems to have disappeared. Water jugs throughout the property were left empty, even in the gym area, and the cushions throughout the pool area and restaurant were covered in stains. By 4 p.m., the towel return shed was unmanned and overflowing with dirty towels. Service ranged from pleasant to indifferent. One evening, when we asked a bartender whether the bar was open at 9:30 p.m., the response was simply, “Sort of.” That answer summed up much of the experience. Most concerning was the amount of sharp glass—not sea glass, but actual broken glass—on the main beach. Guests spent much of their time picking it up throughout our stay. To be fair, our room was attractive and well maintained, but the bed and pillows were tired and uncomfortable. We also learned - too late - that the resort no longer maintains its former age restrictions and now welcomes families with children of all ages. That may be a positive change for some guests, but it contributes to a very different atmosphere than the quiet retreat we remembered. Cambridge Beaches was once one of our favorite resorts anywhere. We arrived expecting to rediscover a place we loved and instead found a property that feels neglected, overpriced, and significantly diminished from its former standards. Sadly, after this visit, we will be looking elsewhere for future trips to Bermuda.

"Very Special Location"

10.0

Cambridge Beaches Resort is a spot that we have now gone to a few times, and we have been extremely pleased each time. The location is amazing with 4 beaches and 4 restaurants. The rooms and cottages are all very well appointed. The service is amazing. It is one of the more pricey locations on the island, but we feel that it is well worth the value.

"Another incredible experience at Cambridge Beaches"

10.0

We were here for the second time to celebrate our anniversary and Cambridge Beaches exceeded our expectations once again! We were in Cove South room which had a very large bathroom with double sinks, a tub and separate shower. Beautiful decor with a very comfortable bed with sitting area and a huge slider out to a patio with table/chairs and 3 lounge chairs on the grass overlooking the water with the beach to the left. Wonderful full sun in the afternoon on the lounge chairs with a Dark & Stormy was absolute perfection. We enjoyed the spa and a wonderful 80 minute deep tissue couples massage, played croquet, kayaked out to the little archipelago at Kings Point and snorkeled around. Sat out at the pool and enjoyed the multiple beaches and incredible blue water. The food here is absolutely delicious - we enjoyed daily breakfast at Shoreline, one dinner at the poolside restaurant Pastels and 3 dinners at Sunken Harbor which is the premiere restaurant onsite and the food is out of this world delicious. The food and beverage manager, Amit strives for continuous improvement and came over to our table daily at both breakfast and dinner for our feedback and even offered us a little rum tasting at dinner which was a treat. Cambridge truly wants their guests to have the best possible experience and that is reflective in the impeccable grounds, the beautiful rooms the fine dining and exceptional staff. Every single staff member that we came in contact with during our stay was so friendly, gracious, helpful, warm and accommodating. They truly go above and beyond - a special shout out to S. Kumar, Suri and Amit who made our stay extra special. If you are looking for relaxation and tranquility in a peaceful, quiet and luxuriously secluded spot then treat yourself to a stay at CB - you won't be disappointed!

"A beautiful Bermuda Hotel, not glitzy, just stately Bermuda."

8.0

Lovely hotel, but some quirks with staff not knowing how to deal with situations or how to answer questions. I think it was the beginning of the season, and things should get better soon., as new employees learn the ropes. The pool and beach are spectacular, food is very good and reasonably priced for Bermuda. We had a great time. We would go back.

"We always love the resort … but the food this time was disappointing"

8.0

This was our third visit to Cambridge Beaches but the first in a few years. We love the resort, always find it very relaxing. The staff are all extremely friendly, the rooms are meticulous with lovely views. It’s luxurious without being pretentious. The only disappointment on this trip was the food. The complex dishes touted on the Sunken Harbour (their gourmet restaurant) menu were just okay. (My fish was overpowered by the tomato-y sauce and the risotto was stodgy. My husband’s chicken was dry - as if it had been cooked earlier.) The fare in the more casual dining venue was, again, just okay. We remember the dining having been on par with the rest of the experience on previous visits.

"Beautiful location, disappointing service experience"

6.0

• More secluded location on Bermuda with beautiful views surrounded by nature • Excellent chef and really good food. A lot of very tasty GF options. • Very clean room and bathroom • Most staff were warm, friendly and helpful - special shout‑out to Cindy at reception, the room service team & the bellman! :)

• Staff entered my room while I was away despite the “Do Not Disturb” sign • Attitude of the lady at front desk • There’s a lot of broken glass on the beach and in the shallow water that makes going barefoot risky • Given the age of the property, some areas around the room needed maintenance

"Perfect"

10.0

Beautiful beaches on either side of the resort. Staff helpful, and welcoming. Food and service was amazing, loved breakfast menu. I was travelling solo and they really looked after me. Location close to bus stops and supermarket. All walkable. I travelled round island on buses and ferries and went horse riding down trails and along beach. Weather was variable, which is to be expected in February, but warm and there was always sunshine at some part of the day. Thoroughly enjoyed my holiday, and a lot warmer than UK. 18 to 22 degrees Centigrade! Love Cambridge Resort, and adore Bermuda. Everyone I met was polite and friendly. The buses so easy to use with app, and run every 15 mins. Thank you all for making my sty so amazing.
