"Brilliant family hotel"

10.0

Just returned from 10 days at this hotel . We found the food good , pools excellent so much going on all over a great family hotel . We did upgrade room as we found the 1 bed apartment for a family of 5 was to small but paying to upgrade didn't bother us we thought it would benefit us more . Great hotel you won't be disappointed coming here

"Excellent holiday x"

10.0

We're coming back from a wonderful stay. The staff were friendly, the pools were excellent and the watermark was fantastic. So much to do everyday. The poolside isn't closed at night so in place of the morning rush you could put towels down at night. There were however plenty of loungers available throughout the day. The food was ok, lots of different types of meat freshly cooked it wasn't always the hottest but cooking on mass while waiting for customers is always going to be tricky to warm. The other guests were also very friendly. Only downside was the evening show wasn't on until 10pm, making it a very long day for little ones. on A brilliant holiday which I would highly recommend x

"2 week stay."

8.0

We got back from here yesterday and wishing we were back already. Upon first arrival I wasn't too sure as the place seemed really busy and usually we go to quieter resorts but as the days went on, the amount of people didn't even cross my mind. Lots to do for families in and around the resort, the all inclusive buffet was really good, lots of choices. Snack bar wasn't that great and sometimes long ques for drinks. The rooms could be better, we was in room 315 and it could do with a bit of a makeover... cleaners came every morning/afternoon, providing clean bedding, towels etc. Staff were all lovely, the tv in the apartment stopped working but got fixed the next working day. Pools were always monitored by life guards, I have been to a couple resorts before where life guards weren't paying much attention so I always felt at ease with my children in the pools/ at the slides at globales bouganvilla. The free bus to the beach also came in handy for us, the bus driver was always kind to everyone. I would definitely return here. Thank you for a nice holiday.

"Enjoyable Week"

8.0

Travelled with Tui from Dublin to this Splashworld Hotel. 2 Adults & 14 Year old Boy. Located 20 minutes walk from Sa Coma Beach, Bus available during the day. Waterpark is very good open 10:00 - 19:00, self serve soft drinks, Burgers hot dogs chips available all day. Main pool very busy, Reserving of sunbeds starts very early. Shows at night time, Lion king, Michael Jackson, Magic show, and music all enjoyable in the circus tent. All inclusive bar queue very long, Self serve soft drinks. Lots of Optional extras, Bouncing castles €12 a night per child, branded ice cream and drinks, arcade, Popcorn Candyfloss machines. Yes Buffet for all meals is busy as expected, never had to wait more than 5 minutes for a table. Food is standard All inclusive 3 star. Desserts could be better Room was standard, not modern and was quiet adequate for the week. I booked with Tui and noticed the price can vary a lot for this hotel, so don't overpay and pay 5 star price for this hotel. Also found hotels own webite site the price was not competive which is a shame because I would like to book direct at the right price Fly killers are required is all food areas. This is mentioned in a lot of reviews but the hotel seem to be ignorning this. Yes it is a hot climate and flys are expected but an effort has to be made to kill them in food areas. Overall had a very enjoyable week, Would love to go back, but at the right price!

"5* for the staff"

10.0

Lads I was so skeptic about booking this having read the reviews but made the last minute plunge and did so… Booked as a package through TUI.. When booking, it was imperative that I needed ground floor accommodation due to mobility problems. This was confirmed by the TUI Travel Assist and apparently confirmed with the hotel. When we arrived at the hotel the receptionist was so nice. But I was told that they had to charge me an extra €100 euro (that I knew nothing about) because the only ground floor apartment they had for me sleeps 5 and there was 4 of us… so the hotel basically charged me extra for having a disability.. Thinking back on it I should have refused to pay the money… As I said, my 5* rating is based on the staff but unfortunately for them, they are very understaffed for the volume of guests that are staying with them. Meal times were chaotic. We varied the times to see if it would make a difference, it didn’t. According to the hotel information: There’s a big buffet restaurant and a pair of themed eateries, dishing up around-the-world specialities. You’ll also find a barbecue grill place, a poolside bar and a lounge bar. The 2 additional themed eateries are realistically a smaller version of the main buffet restaurant - they’re like mini buffets and offer the same foods alternatively every other night. If you like heavily salted meals, you will not be disappointed. Always guaranteed that each restaurant will have pasta of some sort & pizza. There was no barbecue grill place and even though it was all inclusive, we had to pay in the lounge bar for coffee. We stayed all inclusive at other resorts but this was the first time that ice creams were a disappointment for the children. Other resorts always had some sort of ice cream variation and if not, then a mini version of the known brands. At Bouganvilla, your choice was a small petite filous yogurt sized chocolate/vanilla pot! The kids did enjoy the daily snack offerings of Hot-Dogs, Burgers and chips. The queue for a drink at the entertainment events were also chaotic. There are 2 bars here but only one of them provides drinks for all inclusive guests. 45 minutes was the longest wait that is a complete turn off but again down to not having enough staff to cater for the volume of guests. The other option was to go to the empty bar and buy your drink!! Even spotted other guests bringing their own- probably not a bad idea.. The entertainment was ok but sometimes failed to grasp the attention of 9/10 year olds so you end up having to entertain them on the trampolines, pool tables or arcades which is added expense again. Having said that, the kids seemed to have enjoyed the break away. The hotel has massive potential but unless the staff are supported and cut corners are addressed I cannot imagine any improvement.

"Slides brilliant food desperate"

6.0

Waterpark is small . Pool is overpacked. Slides are great no queues . Food is diabolical. Chicken nuggets are grey and dry . Burger my son got was raw in the middle only edible thing was fries. Very expensive for what you get 210 for 2 adults 2 kids . With inedible food . Coffee drinks were fine but id recommend you bring your own food .

"Would not return"

2.0

Just back from a weeks holiday. To say I'm glad to be home is an understatement. Ants all over the room. Big queues for buffet food that was horrible. Poolside slippy and dangerous. Staff rude.

"We will definitely be back!"

8.0

Just returned back from 2 weeks and had a fabulous time. We are a family of 4 (2 adults, 2 children age 4 and 10). Like many people I was apprehensive after reading some of the reviews on here, and thankfully our experience was positive. Sorry this is a long post but I’m hoping it will reassure anyone who is due to stay. Rooms: Yes they are basic but they have everything you need and are cleaned daily. Air con was really good, we had to turn it off at night as got too cold, I found the hair dryer decent. We had a one bedroom apartment on the top floor, in Amapola block, emailed in advance to request a top floor - just be aware that there aren’t any lifts. If we were to come again we’d request further away from the entertainment as it was really loud on the evenings we wanted an earlier night. We were able to keep our room on until 4pm on our last day (think it cost €33). You need to put your name down in advance at reception and then go to reception at 9am on the morning of your departure to see if they you are able to let you keep it on, thankfully we could and it made our last day much more relaxing. Pool areas: Amazing for the kids, we spent most of our days around the red bucket pool. Loved the aqua mat in the big pool and my 10 year old loved the slides at splash world. My 4 year old loved the bubble pool, at times I felt very nervous as there were a lot of older children in there jumping from the top, and not all of the lifeguards would do anything (some were very good at telling them to get off as they were too tall) so I always made sure I stayed at the edge and got him out if it got too dangerous. Pool towels are in your room when you arrive and then you pay €1 per towel to change them, you need to let reception know in advance as they didn’t have any when we went to change ours. Food and drink: 3 restaurants all buffet, we preferred the pizzeria so ate most of our meals there. We found there to be enough variety and being a vegetarian there was plenty of options for me. We were there for 2 weeks so I expect it to be repetitive. The only thing I would say could be improved is the food labelling, at times I was unsure if something had meat in, I did feel that this got better towards the end of our stay with more things being labelled. There is also a snack bar in splash world, I didn’t eat there but my children ate from there a few times and enjoyed it. There was the usual chicken nuggets, chips, hot dogs and burgers as well as salads and fruit. Drinks were fine, helpful having the self serve machines, there were queues in the entertainment area and at certain times around the main pool but we never found it too much of a problem. No issues getting a sun lounger, as long as you don’t want a particular area or front row you will still get one without having to get up early. There were still loungers by the baby pool and splash world until later on in the morning most days. Location: We’ve stayed in Sa Coma several times in a hotel closer to the beach. We enjoy getting out and having a walk so didn’t mind the 15 minute walk to the beach. We used the hotel shuttle bus once when it was quiet and happened to be there when we walked out of the hotel, but preferred to walk. It often looked very busy and I couldn’t be doing with the stress of people jumping the queue. We went out for a couple of meals and again, didn’t mind walking (recommend Sky Dreams in S’illot, beautiful sea views - around 25 min walk from hotel). We also visited Cala Millor and paid €9 each way in a taxi. There is a large supermarket 10 mins walk away so useful to stock up on water (I wasn’t keen on the taste of the water in the machines at the hotel). Staff: The staff work really hard. I came down early some mornings and saw the state that the staff were having to clean up from the night before, you couldn’t fault them, all very friendly but really felt for them as the pool areas were left in such a state with food and drinks all over the place and one morning a sun lounger in the pool. Rooms were cleaned to a high standard. We had photos taken which was nice, bought 4 and didn’t feel pressure to buy any more - we were clear from the beginning we wouldn’t buy many. Word of warning, I didn’t get bitten until I did the photos, they were outside the front of the hotel on the grassy area and we all got lots of bites! Entertainment: We went to the mini disco most nights and enjoyed the Lion King and Michael Jackson shows, the entertainment team work really hard and the shows we saw were of a high standard, we enjoyed the cocktail making round the pool and my children enjoyed the singing and dancing with Globy around the pool each day. Overall a great hotel, some of the guests unfortunately let it down, but you get this anywhere. We will definitely return in a few years when my little boy is able to go on the big slides. While searching for holidays there don’t seem to be many hotels that have an on-site waterpark so close to a resort centre, so I’d definitely recommend this hotel, my children keep talking about the holiday and how amazing it was, they can’t wait to return.

"Great hotel and facilities"

10.0

Great hotel, friendly helpful staff. Lots of activities going on and amazing evening entertainment; Michael Jackson tribute, Bruno Mars tribute, circus, magic show, Motown band. There’s so much to do for the kids too such as volleyball, football, tennis, water play/games. It has its own ‘sand’ area for beach volleyball/football. Bouncy castles, trampolines, arcades etc. a few good shops on site selling groceries and gifts. The 3 restaurants are great with plenty of variety and cuisine theme evenings. The pools are good too and the waterpark a god send, barely saw my kids during the day as they threw themselves down the many fun slides. They operate a token system for drinks. Each person has 1 token to exchange for a cup you use throughout the day. This really helps keep the pool area tidy and litter free. Plenty of sunbeds too. Really pleased with their conscious sustainability efforts. Only negatives are location as not much outside the complex and a good 20 min walk to the beach for shops, bars, restaurants etc but we had more than enough to do/keep us entertained on site, although the free shuttle bus runs every 15 mins to/from beach (2 sunbeds/parasol on beach €35). Other negative was the rooms are basic and dated, we had ants running about our kitchen but as all inclusive never used the kitchen. Would definitely return for another holiday here.

"Don’t get robbed."

2.0

Unhygienic ants crawling in sink and up walls not only in apartment but also in restaurant whilst eating 🤢🥴. Hair on beds and pull out Sofa bed 🤮 not to mention floors. When booked I was told 3 beds, no mention of Sofa bed. Due to ants and the pesticide not working requested to be moved and explained I had requested a ground floor room in the first place due to mobility problems, I was told the next morning (before new people had arrived) the only room they had available was 2nd floor of the same block I was in after taking all my luggage to reception and there was no lift 😭. Some of the food had flies landing as it was not covered up. The water park really isn’t as fancy as the brochure makes it. We ended up going to Aqualand instead so basically paid twice and traveled for hours for the kids to ensure some pools and slides. I took mainly videos and not photos and so it’s almost impossible to get the real picture as I can’t upload.
