Peter Shields Inn & Restaurant

There are times when you are blessed with the best possible luck selecting a hotel far from home. On our net search we found a couple of larger hotels and lots of B&B's that looked interesting, but most had queen beds. Most were built over a hundred years ago when double beds were the norm. We picked this hotel because it looked interesting and had a king.appropriately We were blown away by the elegance of this 100 year old house. It is immaculate and furnished. There are 8 guest rooms. Ours was up the central staircase, on the third floor room facing the ocean with a small, elegantly appointed bathroom.

We stayed two nights while we were in Cape May for birding. We ate one dinner in the restaurant and it was great. The breakfast each morning was also great

We stayed at this beautifully restored Inn on the beach and were extremely pleased with our room and the personalized service by the staff. It exceeded all our expectations. We had a king size bed and it was the most comfortable mattress I've ever slept on and the bedding was heavenly. Even the bath towels were thick and plus. The food is AMAZING, and the wine and cheese served in the late afternoon was a delightful bonus. We will definitely return for a longer stay next time.

I wanted an extra bed or just to add one person for 1 night. I saw that extra bed was $30 per night, but they wanted me to pay $57 per night and she was annoyed why I made a reservation via expedia. She told me not to use expedia because expedia is cheating on them.

The best service and hotel we can think of ever having. The staff was friendly efficient and helpful. We were there for New Year's and It was decorated beautifully with balloons and banners. Coffee and snacks were free. And brunch the next day which was superb was also complementary consisted of a sitdown menu and help yourself fresh seafood bar. Far more than we expected highly recommended. One final note was the price was so low I felt like I owed them money. RD & LP
