Vila Gale Cascais Hotel & Resort

Very nice!

We loved this hotel and wish we could have stayed longer. Having a balcony with a table and chairs overlooking the ocean was so nice after being in the bigger cities for a week, and the hotel keeps flower boxes full of lantanas on each balcony. The pool area was beautiful and staff was very nice. The breakfast buffet was fantastic. It was perfectly situated - a short walk to most of the Cascais sights - Boca do Inferno in one direction and the lighthouse and historic houses and marina in the other. An easy walk into town. What a nice place - I would give this Vila Gale brand a try anywhere else in Portugal or Brazil.

I was expecting nice breakfast but during week holiday and 4hotels visited it was worse choice off breakfast. And in a car park need some cover for a cars

We had a fantastic sea view room on 6th floor and the views were brilliant. The hotel was quiet and walking distance from restaurants etc. We found the room and all public areas very clean and tidy and the pool area was lovely. Some of the features in the room are a little dated, but nothing to cause an issue.

Good location, area around pool etc nice.

Room STUNK like body odor. I got a Junior Suite room for 4 people and 2 of us were sleeping on COTS! The bathroom door didnt close and no towels were provided at first until we requested more. The people checking us in were rude and did not provided details or information or help. They said they would have kids activities on the monday and my kids wanted to come back from the town for them. We came back, nothing was going on so we asked the front desk and they said someone would be outside and no one came. We wasted 2 hours waiting for them of our day. They then changed the documents in the front of hotel to exclude our days activities, so lied to us. The property has a pool, somewhat dangerous slides at kiddy pool and water was freezing. Food was repetitive for the dinners. They also need more allergy sensitive items. I have a lactose allergy and it was difficult to communicate my needs to changing staff each night so eventually i just took lactose pills each dinner to be safe. We enjoyed the location and the outdoor portions of the resort but this place needs major renovation on their rooms and staff changes. Musicians were wonderful at resort. Many kids running around so very kid friendly.

Carpeted room and its smelled awful

The location is excellent. Our 1 bedroom suite was spacious enough but had dated bergundy carpet and dilapidated fixtures. The carpet smelled and we had to open the sliders to air it out. The kids enjoyed the pool. The breakfast is incredible, with many choices. If the room was updated this would be 5 stars.

This is a lovely hotel, very close to the Marina and 10min walk to the beach and multiple restaurants. The sunbeds go very quickly but there is lots of grass area to relax on with towels provided by the hotel. The rooms were spacious and cleaned everyday. I recommend asking for floor 6 when booking so you don’t get disturbed by noise from the floor above.

The room accommodations , were not good. The room washroom was old, they have a kids slide, that was very dangerous. Many people complained as there kids got injured. As one parent complained there daughter was injured, I also complained . It is only a matter of time before there is law suite against this resort because of kids getting injured.
