Protur Sa Coma Playa Hotel & Spa

Stayed for 4 nights in a swim up room. The hotel is beautiful, spotlessly clean and all the staff we encountered were lovely. Room great, food is tasty and a great choice, pools are brilliant. Location is great, lovely little beach only 5 min walk away. We’d love to come back.

We are staying at Protur Sa Coma Playa Hotel & Spa and while parts of our stay is enjoyable, there are several frustrating surprises that left us feeling misled and disappointed. First, the photos of a large, luxurious indoor spa and swimming pool featured in the hotel’s marketing are very misleading. These facilities actually belong to the 5-star hotel next door, and if you're staying here, you'll need to pay €13 per hour to use them. At check-in, we were told that only "extras like massages" cost extra — a standard policy we’re used to. But at no point were we told that basic spa access (pool, sauna, etc.) required a separate fee and was off-site. The hotel does have its own small indoor pool, which we ended up using frequently, but it's quite basic. There's also an outdoor pool for kids, but it was too cold to enjoy during our stay. They have a gym as well, which is okay — nothing special but functional. There is a sauna on-site, but it's locked and requires advance notice for staff to turn it on. Again, not what you'd expect from a hotel with “& Spa” in the name. Additional surprises: they charge €2 per day to use the in-room safe, which feels outdated and unnecessary. And we had a frustrating moment at the restaurant, where staff refused to serve us until we proved we had registered our credit card at reception but apparently wasn’t showing due to a system error. They did apologize, but it made the experience more stressful than it needed to be. On the bright side, the hotel is extremely clean, and food quality is generally good — fresh and in line with 4-star expectations. Breakfast was great, but steaks were very chewy and pizzas didn’t meet the mark. Overall, it’s a decent, clean hotel — but if you're booking for the spa experience or based on the photos, you’ll likely be disappointed. Transparency could go a long way here.

Lovely hotel, our 4th visit. Staff are super and location is good. Hotel has has a refurbishment but we were very disappointed by the air conditioning which was extremely poor, worse than it was in previous years. Also there was a terrible problem with the pool water - it seems to now be being treated with a different chemical, instead of chlorine - but the pool water very quickly turned ALL of our swimwear green, very green, and they were all ruined - it didn’t wash out, even with proper fabric wash, I even tried soaking in vinegar! It didn’t wash out once home either and has permanently stained green and ruined all our swimming costumes, rubber parts of my child’s goggles, and my watch strap. Even my daughter’s skin and hair turned green and it would not wash off!! I complained to management several times and they fobbed me off saying it was due to sun cream but it was not this (I went and bought 3 other makes to try) and the green staining was happening to everyone. This for us really spoiled our stay, along with the very poor air conditioning and because of these 2 faults we will be unlikely to return, which we are sad about as it used to be an excellent hotel, it was previously faultless, but the manager has changed in the last couple of years, and the hotel appear to be trying to reduce their costs, the quality of the food was also noticeably less good than the previous year. Overall, disappointing.

Stayed at the hotel in September for a week with my partner on a half board package. Very helpful and friendly at check in with a free car park. The hotel is modern and very clean. The room was very nice and large. Both of us are vegetarian and there were always plenty of options for the evening meal even my partner who is quite fussy didn't struggle. Breakfast was the same everyday but there was enough variety to have different things. We tried the Indian restaurant one night and it was okay, the starters were good but one of the Currys was quite vingery. The drinks were priced pretty similar to the local bars and had a decent mix of cocktails/ spirts. All the staff were very friendly. The entertainment was pretty average. Not the hotel but found the area to be quiet in the evenings, the only busy bars seemed to be English/Irish bars sadly. We hired bikes for the day for free from the hotel which was nice to go to the castle and to cala bona along the front, we didn't do any other activities but looked like they had a lot on offer all quite reasonably priced. Only a 10 minute walk to the beach and plenty of shops nearby.

First time in Mallorca so first time at this hotel. Did not disappoint. Lovely quiet location. 2 good pools (adult one lovely) tho the main one never busy. Food consistently good and always plenty of choice even when going in later in evenings. Friendly staff. The resort itself was charming with lovely nature reserve by beach.Evening entertainment was ok. The bands, duo's we enjoyed. Shame more people not going to the entertainment and usual annoying young children running across dance floor when acts are on. Only downside and thats not due to the hotel just some guests ! if we return to this lovely island this will be our hotel.

I’ve loved the Protur group of hotels for over 30 years now. Their staff are amazing, I always feel welcomed and safe which is important for solo travellers.

We booked a swim up room for our first holiday with a 7 month old baby. The hotel itself is lovely, very clean and the rooms looked after daily. We had all inclusive and the mini-bar was topped up every day too. The staff here are very friendly, special mentions to Jimmy and David in the bar and Maria in the restaurant who looked after us and our little one all week. The vibe from the people staying at the hotel was also great, they were happy to be stared/yelled/cooed at by the little one and she loved the attention too. The food is 'decent' - its neither great nor bad. Could do with being warmer but we managed to get something every meal. The 'bookable' restaurants were a bit disappointing, we did Cardamom and Tex Mex and both were underwhelming. Sa Coma and the area surrounding the hotel is lovely, we had wanders every day to get out and about and felt safe. The only negative comments come regarding the temperature of the pool(s) - main pool is cold, kids pool is colder! Our swim up pool was warmer than both, but still 'take-your-breath-away cold. The A/C in the rooms is also poor. We had a baby camera with a temperature reader on and the room was often at 24* when the AC had been on all day at '18*' - cant imagine in in the peak of summer. Overall we really enjoyed our stay here, and would happily return at a similar time of year

Spent a week in October 2024 , half board in room 259. Everything was just perfect for us (mature couple). Rooms modern and very comfortable with everything you need. Kettle, fridge, hairdryer, TV with English channels, fantastic power shower. Nice balcony with clothes drier( ours overlooked the Serenity adults only area), nice and quiet. The staff in every department were brilliant. The buffett restaurant was spot on.Lots of choice and chef cooked my meat a little longer when asked as I like it well done. We were spoilt for choice and therefore came home having gained a few extra pounds 🫣 Lovely spa area, I have a gorgeous hot stone massage. No sunbed wars. Can't praise this hotel enough..will definitely return. We had early flight home and restaurant staff left us breakfast and drinks for the morning...a really nice touch. Well done to everyone mat this gorgeous hotel.
