"Excellent hotel"

10.0

This is an excellent hotel with superb staff. We were an all inclusive multigenerational family of 8 adults 2 children, 2 toddlers and a baby. Pool facilities are wonderful and include a main pool, toddler pool and an adults only pool. Pool bar is brilliant and the Staff are a real asset. Entertainment also good. Hotel very clean and beds comfortable

"Best Hotel on the island!"

10.0

We have been visiting this hotel for the last 20 years , initially as a couple and then as a family of 3. Our last visit was pre covid. We decided to return this year. This has to be one of the best hotels on the island! The standard has not changed in all the years. The fact that it retains a lot of its staff speaks mountains. The rooms are immaculate , food delicious and staff most welcoming ! We arrived at 3am after a great flight from Edinburgh (Tui). We were greeted by the night reception staff and invited to go along to the restaurant for a light meal. Lovely, we then went up to our immaculate bedroom and had a very much needed sleep. Next morning we managed to get to breakfast and were greeted by the head waiter who instantly remembered our names from years ago. How is that for service ! Food was delicious serving both cooked and cold breakfast. The glass of Cava always helps and is a lovely touch We arrived at the end of May so 'off season' I suppose. No rush for sunbeds and a ruling that no towels can be put down before 9am. Good shout Protur.. We used the adult pool as our daughter is now 16. Adult pool is amazing and very quiet. We were served by the lovely Mike at the pool bar. Such a great guy. We were half board so alternated between the pizza place across the road and the bar at the family pool for lunch . Pizza carry out from the restaurant across the road about £12/13 and very tasty. They also offer chips to come with pizza .Hotel Pool bar is also amazing and prices wise good. Portions big and l recommend the club sandwich. Water is free at all times. We decided to go half board this time. When my daughter was younger it made sense to go all inclusive . The food is amazing. We were spoilt for choice. Look out for Paloma, best waitress ever. As l said before , if a hotel keeps its staff the way this one does , then they are doing something right. She has been there as long as we have been visiting. If you need an English speaking staff member look for Christina. Fabulous receptionist and a font of knowledge in relation to what to do and where to go on the island. Gym bunnies, l use the hotel one.. 2 treadmills , 2 spin bikes and a cross trainer. Plenty weights . Water cooler and free fruit. Never busy ( l used at about 6pm and was often alone) You can pay extra for the gym in the Biomar which is great but if you are a basic gym user like me why bother ?. Indoor pool was amazing too plus sauna (I did not use) All in all we love this hotel. It has never changed in all the years we have been coming apart from upgrading rooms and decor. Standards are high, staff are attentive and every need met.. Why would we go anywhere else?

"Love coming back to this lovely hotel!"

10.0

I have been here many times over the years with various family members and the welcome you receive makes you feel special. The rooms are spotlessly clean and now very modern as they have recently been refurbished to a high standard. I would however like to suggest that the glass petition between the bedroom and the bathroom be removed! The staff throughout the hotel are a credit to the company and many have been there for many years - a good reflection on the hotel. The choice of food, at breakfast and dinner, in the restaurant is plentiful and varied with something for everyone including children. The evening entertainment is varied with a couple of good bands during our stay. The location is quiet and a good beach is about 10 mins walk away. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel and will certainly return again. Thank you Sa Coma Playa!

"A great get away in a family friendly hotel."

10.0

We had never been to Sa Coma or this particular hotel, in fact we booked it on the off chance looking at the reviews. I can honestly say we have stumbled on to a fabulous holiday break in a brilliant hotel. The hotel is exceptionally clean, as are the spacious rooms and gorgeous dining room. The swimming pools and bars are also kept to a high standard. There is a family pool, an adult pool and an indoor pool. Also plenty of sunbeds. Obviously this hotel will be busy during school holidays. The food was plentiful and delivered a large variety of different foods. We where very impressed. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff. Anything you may need to hire can be sorted through reception. The beach is about 10 mins away and easily accessible. Everywhere was clean and litter free. The local bars around the hotel are friendly and welcoming. There is nothing I would change about this hotel. We will definitely return.

"The best holiday"

10.0

We have just returned from our holiday at Sa Coma Playa and had the best time! We stayed in a suite which I definitely recommend, I'm not sure what the other rooms were like but ours was large and spacious and a bathtub for the little one was a bonus. The beds and pillows were comfortable and the curtains kept out all the light. The air conditioning wasn't amazing although it did the job. Protur is a group of hotels in the area and as a result there is lots of free things to do. The Club house around the corner from the hotel and is where you book your activities. We rented bikes for €20 deposit which comes with bike seats if needed and helmets. The area around Sa Coma has bike paths around so is great way to explore the area. We also played mini golf which was great fun and also free. There are a range of free activities to do - my husband and I said that it was just like going to a Centre Parks with the range of activities available. The food at the hotel was served buffet style, delicious and always a large range of food, even for our picky daughter! All inclusive does not cover food at the Pool bar nor snacks in the afternoon - although we found this a little odd we were always so full from the main meals so didn't need snacks anyhow. There are free ice creams for the all inclusive which we only discovered in the last couple of days. There is a mini bar in the hotel and this is free if you are all inclusive. There are 3 restaurants that you can book to go to for a meal within the complex. We booked the Italian and do not recommend it. We had such high hopes for a lovely meal - we were in an out within 40 minutes as the food was thrown at us pretty much the moment we sat down - well 1 salad which we asked to have with our main anyhow. We were given 1 scruffy menu to share between 3 of us, drinks were placed on the table but none of the wine glasses were taken away and no glasses given for the bottled beer. The food was tasteless and cold and it was apparent that all the food had been prepped earlier in the day including the drizzle on the plates which made for an unappetising experience. We wished we had just attended the buffet! The pool is lovely and big and there are always lots of sunbeds available. We liked how the kids splash pool was close the the play area and the main pool. My daughter adored the mini disco and was in love with Jalal the entertainer. She will be singing the songs for weeks! The other entertainment didn't start until 9.30pm which was disappointing as we would have loved to have seen some of the acts but it was just too late. If you are after Spanish culture then Sa Coma is not for you - it is an area developed for tourists. It's not a complaint, just an observation. The town was literally develop around hotels. There are plenty of shops that you can find whatever you forgot to pack. There are a few restaurants scattered around. Sa Coma has a beautiful beach within a ten minute easy walk with shallow water. There is a good mix of sunbeds and space just to sit on the beach. The beach backs onto a nature reserve which you can walk through. Staff at the hotel were all super lovely and really made our holiday. We had the best time and would say this has been the best family hotel that we have visited and would certainly love to return.

"Lovely family holiday"

8.0

Wonderful hotel, had a brilliant week away with family - 4 stars seem harsh given how good the hotel is but hear me out. On arrival were provided a very warm welcome by Caesar on reception. As it was lunchtime he suggested we leave bags with him and get some lunch before finishing check in. Our rooms were ready after lunch and immaculate. We had room 51 as needed a ground floor room and it came with some lovely flowers, a bottle of prosecco and pool towels already waiting. The rooms were a good size, spotless and very well appointed. Air con worked a treat and the lights were all done really well through a central control console which was really handy. Bathroom was big with a bath and big shower. Could not fault the rooms at all, beds were really comfy too. All the main areas within the hotel were spotless. Cannot fault the cleanliness of the hotel. The pool area was always spotless every morning too and unlike some hotels, you don't get people reserving beds at 6am. There were always loads available even at 9am. To be fair there wasn't a day where there were not spare sun beds and this was in half term when you'd expect them to be super busy. The food was amazing, really good choice and variety and the freshly cooked area was a lovely addition. Breakfast, lunch and tea was all brilliant. Brilliant selection from the main buffet and would be hard pressed not to find something for everyone. You can book the special restaurants during your stay also. We did the Country Grill and La Fontana (Italian). The grill was amazing, Mexican style food. The taste and quality was amazing, only thing letting it down is they do 2 sittings at 6:30 and later. So everyone has to turn up the same time. The queue then is a joke, waited 20 mins to get food from the buffet. Don't get me wrong it was worth the wait but 20 mins is excessive. The Italian was not as good. Waited 40 mins to have order taken and then they'd run out of a certain starter even though it was the first sitting. The menu was ok, but a bit limited. The food was nice when it came, but everything was just a long wait, and we got bitten to death by mosquitos despite being dowsed in that deet stuff. The drinks were all decent quality, proper bands which is a plus when some all inclusive give you the knock off versions. The cocktails in the main bar are all made by hand. The pool bar has a cool machine which mixes them automatically. So quick, but they didn't taste as nice. I had a Pina colada which was pretty grim. But all the other drinks were lovely. So far, you're thinking, this is a 5 star review - correct. The reason have gone 4 is because the hotel also seems to cater for large corporate and other groups. When we got there, there was a corporate group which was fine to start but at meal times they all turned up at the same time. Later in the week there was another group of must have been 50 guys who spent the day round the pool on laptops, walking round the pool talking on phones. But at 6:30pm all of them descended on the restaurant and literally stripped the buffet clean. If you have children 6:30pm is prime tea time, so all the families literally couldn't get a look in as was like a swarm of locusts had descended. The poor kitchen staff had no chance keeping up, there was nothing left. Utterly ridiculous to allow that many from one group all turn up at same time. I heard people complaining to reception about it, that's how bad it was. It was a very strange going on, the day they all left was brilliant as, guess what, meal times were fine, there was food left for everyone and people arrived naturally staggered which allowed the chefs to keep things topped up. This is why I've gone 4 stars, because for a hotel that is very clearly family orientated, these mass group bookings during half term was a bit daft. By all means do it outside school holiday time but when you are promoting to families, try and avoid or come up with a better system to stagger the impact. The only other gripe is the bar inside, where the entertainment is on an evening, got hotter than Mordor. There was no air con other than in the rooms. I do get that the hotel is very green friendly and this is probably a way to further enhance that status by not having air con everywhere, but you're dealing with Brits who only see the sun for 2-3 weeks of the year back home and when you have a hundred people in a bar area it does get very sweaty. The main pool was a lovely size and crystal clear. It was like having an ice bath though. So cold. Little ones were coming out teeth chattering. It did warm up slightly later in the week, I think a combination of sunnier days and more bodies in the pool helped. We played crazy golf which was really fun and a cool course that had a stream winding through it and played tennis on the clay courts. The whole area and surrounding sister hotels were lovely, absolutely thoroughly recommend. I would 100% stay at this hotel again and hope to hell it does not coincide with the large groups again as we did have a fantastic time, the management just need to tweak a few things to make it even better.

"very good hotel, well run, great location, good quality rooms/food/drinks, an extra Adults Only area would enhance it"

8.0

Overall my wife and I had a really enjoyable week here. The hotel is very well run, clean and spacious, and we found all the staff friendly and helpful. We stayed in a swim up end room (no.036) which was excellent, very spacious, comfy bed, walk-in shower plus separate bath, mini bar re-stocked every day, good size terrace with table/chairs and loungers. You get the sun here until late afternoon. Food quality in restaurants was good, would recommend booking Tomeu Caldentey Cuiner restaurant which is in the hotel, we had the 8-course tasting menu which was a real treat. Drinks were good, Estrella beer on draught, Smirnoff vodka and Gordon’s gin on the all inclusive. Evening entertainment was good, something for everyone. Great location, we walked into Cala Millor and Cala Bona (to the left) in around 40-50mins, and into S’illot on the other side in around 20-30 mins, well worth a visit, beaches are immaculate. The only negative which could be improved on is how they cater for adults/couples. While there is the Adults Only pool, the bar wasn’t opened, which means you have to walk back across the small path, through reception, to the main pool bar to get a drink, and walk back! Reception said it’s not open until later in the season. Not ideal. There’s only one main bar in the evening, which is next to the stage where the kids mini disco is on before the adults entertainment, so it can be loud and hectic! Hotel would benefit from another, Adults Only bar, perhaps at the Adults Only pool area. For the size of hotel and number of guests, it really needs an additional bar.

"Nice clean hotel with great staff, but the spa is basically 'disgusting'!"

6.0

Basic: Pro's: Great hotel - nice friendly staff, nice food (my partner is gluten-free and they made her her own meals!), not too far from the beach, most of the entertainment was good. Con's: The spa is absolutely terrible. It should be condemned, not advertised on the main page. And, you have to pay for it! There was a lingering smell of sewerage on the road near the beach. There isn't much to do in the area, including the hotel - especially if it's bad weather. Summary: Go here for the hotel and beach, if that's all you want. No complaints there - apart from the weird bathroom/bedroom partition. Friendly staff, clean and comfy environment, good food, and a nice pool. Either ditch the 'spa' advertising or get it refurbished - immediately! This feels like a total scam! Complimentary dressing gowns would have made things better in the cooler evenings whilst sitting on the balcony. In depth: We chose this hotel specifically because it has a 'top spa'. We wanted a holiday where we could relax, and something inside if it rained. We wanted to get a taxi from the air port to the hotel. TUI failed to mention about cheaper pre-booked taxis (25% cheaper!), or a chance to book a hire car from the hotel at about £200 for the week... Anyway, we got the hotel about 23:30. They asked for a 'being in Spain tax', which we had to pay then (thanks again, TUI). The hotel staff gave us some food and made us feel very welcome. The rooms were nice and tidy. They felt clean. One thing to add, the bathroom has a translucent partition, which is next to the bed. You basically watch your partner use the toilet, even more so when the light is on in the middle of the night - whoever designed that needs their head examined. The balcony had a nice view of the sea - beach only about 10 min away. The room was quiet, no real noise from the neighbours. Nice beaches, worth a walk. The castle is worth viewing... but that's about it in the local vicinity. Even the local tourist information said that the place doesn't have anything interesting. Now, the real issue - the spa. Something to do on the rainy day we predicted. On the internet - a 1 hour Swedish massage was €65, on their internet from the TV €80, and from the spa place €99. The massage was lacklustre. After the massage, the spa. The changing room had the vibe of a place that needed a revamp. Even some of the bulbs in the showers didn't work. Walking to the spa, which wasn't quite clear on directions, led to this total disaster of an environment - cordoned off area with ripped up seats, cracked tiles, missing tiles (even in the hot tub), green mould, black mould, greasy tide marks on the pool edges, a shower that has tepid to scalding hot water in the blink of an eye, blown windows which you can see through, dirt piled up on the outside of windows, rot, decay, filth, steam rooms that were barely warm and stank of bad dampness (concerns of Cholera or Legionella). I came out of there feeling like I needed another shower, but back in my hotel room!! The only person I would invite to the spa would be the health inspector. With nothing else to do on the rainy days - the pool table is even outside, we were left feeling a bit bored of the area. The TV didn't have satellite to watch. We used our Netflix in the end. Most of the entertainment was good. One jazz band was boring, the Beatles were too loud and barely played the Beatles, the illusionist rubbing razor blades on his tongue and eating them in front of kids was not a good idea, ABBA night was watchable, the lady giving a few good oldies was the best was a watch, with the crown going to the guys who can actually entertain. Other than that, the place doesn't really have much to offer. Finally, we could have also saved money on the taxi home by prebooking - the hotel said order on the day - we could have saved €25 - great end to the holiday.

"Fantastic Hotel"

10.0

We have throughly enjoyed our stay. The rooms are ultra modern. Very clean and spacious. Everything (lights etc) is run by an electronics panel. You can put in a do not disturb or clean room via this. Rooms are cleaned daily and to a high standard. The buffet restaurant offers a range of food. We never felt as though we didn't have much choice. If anything there was too much choice which is fantastic with family who have different tastes. Food is fresh and cooked to a high standard. They even have a live cooking station where you can request fresh steaks, chicken skewers, fish etc. The food went above expectations. We mainly used the outdoor kids pool and indoor pool. Although the outdoor pool could be cold (due to the time of year we came on holiday) it was still usable for my little girl and partner and many others. Indoor pool was brilliant. A lot of the time we were solely the only users. I would like to say that the staff at make the holiday! That's from the restaurant staff, bar staff, children's entertainment and the cleaners they are truly a credit to the hotel and made our stay special. They are friendly, helpful and go above and beyond. The entertainment and activities at the hotel are brilliant. The kids club kept my little girl entertained all day to the point I didn't see her! They have a kids disco at 830 and adult entertainment at 930. Every night I enjoyed the entertainment especially the ABBA tribute. The hotel is 5-10 minutes from the local beach and there are plenty of restaurants, bars and shops in walking distance from the hotel. It's not often I would say I would return to a hotel but I can honestly say i look forward to my return to this hotel.
