"A great family holiday"

10.0

Just arrived home after 2 weeks at Protur Sa Coma. First impressions when we arrived were great, receptionist very warm and welcoming and our room was ready when we arrived. We had a swim up room which was really nice although we actually didn't use the swim up as much as we probably should have done. Room was clean (and kept beautifully clean throughout the holiday) we had one slight issue around a week in which was quickly rectified. Contents of minifridge all included if your staying all inclusive, and was topped up daily. Includes branded soft drinks, water, bottles of Estrella beer, crisps and a carton of juice. It was a really nice touch to have a bottle of fizz left in our room when we returned from lunch on our first day, and fresh flowers on the table. The fizz helped make unpacking the cases very easy! A huge plus here is there's no fight for sunbeds, we got up around 10am most mornings and strolled down after breakfast and there was always beds available, sometimes half a row empty until lunchtime. We travelled to a hotel last year where if you weren't up by 7am you had no chance of a bed at all so this was so refreshing and really sets the mood for your day. One thing I would say that makes the holiday here is the staff. Everyone from the dining room staff, animation team, bar staff all so friendly despite how busy they are. My little girl could not wait to go to kids club every day, it was usually her first question upon waking up 'can I go to kids club today?' The animation team were all so attentive and engaging with the children and on her last day she received a medal which she's now put on her bedside table for safe keeping. She made loads of friends whilst there and also around the entertainment in the evenings. Evening entertainment is always subjective, for us we preferred some acts better than other but that's personal taste. Favourite for us were The Bruno Show, African Acrobatic show and in particular Family Affair who we only saw on our last night but these guys had EVERYONE on their feet dancing and singing. Really brought the place to life. It's so hard to remember every single staff members name but just another shout out to the evening bar staff, who run a really efficient table service each night and somehow manage to dodge excited children with ease as they carry drinks table to table and are always on hand to help clear up when spillages do occur. I simply can't just name one or two because they all work as a team and all do a fantastic job. If there was ONE thing I could possibly highlight (and I don't really know if anything can be done about this) I would possibly ask that when guests enter at mealtimes, they are asked by the front of house to supervise children on visits to the buffet. We saw very young children, I'm talking 3,4,5 year old being allowed to roam free at the buffet with no guardians in tow. We saw children walking fingers in mouths, picking up food, putting back when they decided they actually didn't want it, eating as they walked around, dropping food on the floor, dropping utensils on the floor and putting back etc etc. Not to mention the fact there are hot food trays, hot soup containers which could easily burn small hands, and it gets very busy. I had to twice help small children who had gone up alone who then couldn't remember where they were sitting and starting to panick and ask a staff member to help find their way back to the table. I'm talking as parent to a small child myself (6yr old) who never once went up without parent or grandparent, I just don't think it's acceptable and as I say if staff could just ask parents to supervise it would make for a more enjoyable experience all round. We always tried to get food as it came out or take from the back because of behaviours we witnessed. Aside from my last point, a perfect stay and we wouldn't hesitate to return!

"Great Family Holiday"

8.0

Excellent hotel for a family holiday, the hotel and grounds were immaculately clean. Rooms were modern and spacious. Excellent location a short 10 minute walk to the shops/restaurants and beach front. The pool area was great plenty of sun beds even in peak season, I was particularly impressed with the life guard who never once took her attention away from the safety of the children very friendly she even taught my son some breathing techniques to help improve his butterfly stroke. The food is to a good standard of what you would expect from an all inclusive hotel. One a la carte reservation we chose the Italian which exceed expectations. Half board allowed us to swap our evening meal to lunch on the days we wanted to eat outside of the hotel on an evening. The staff were very helpful and friendly, sa coma itself isn't the biggest resort however enough shops and restaurants to choose from. Taxi into cala millor cost approx 7 euros. You can also play mini golf at the pro tour safari free of charge. Overall impressed with this hotel and would return.

What an absolute little cracker!! The cleanliness is outstanding, the rooms are wonderful and facilities are perfect! We travelled with children and grandchildren and it ticked every box! Food was great, we loved the entertainment and the option to use the water park, mini golf was spot on. If I had to make the smallest of niggles then the see through doors in the ladies pool side toilets were tricky but hey ho! Thank you, great stay

From the first minute arriving at the hotel the staff were great even ensuring we got a bottle of fizz delivered to our room for our wedding anniversary. The hotel is immaculate in every location , the food is varied plenty of options and the restaurant staff were excellent. We used both the family pool and the adult pool which were great and not too full , the bars and snack bar were great again the staff attentive. Our room overlooked the pool area it had everything you need the cleanliness was good , cleaners attended each day and fresh towels always left. The hotel offered loads of facilities which we didn’t get chance to use due to us wanting to just relax and that we definitely did. This was our second visit to this hotel and we will be back again , thanks to all the staff for making this a great holiday.

"Excellent family hotel with a superb location."

10.0

If you want a relaxing family holiday, this is the resort for you. All staff (housekeeping, reception, restaurant) are so friendly and professional. Shout out to Carlos in the restaurant who is so welcoming and organised our group a table outside for breakfast and dinner. Also a shout out to Christina on reception who is so accommodating and friendly. The hotel provide bikes for a bike ride down to Cala Millor or Porto Cristo. The main pool is not too busy and the perfect temperature to cool off. If you prefer to read a book or relax there is another quieter pool for this option. The food was to a high standard for a buffet style for both breakfast and dinner. Wide selection of fresh fruits, yogurts, cold meats, pastries, juices and hot food (eggs, sausage, bacon, beans). Evening selection is just as impressive with the chef cooking meats to order and different cuisines catered for. Overall a really enjoyable stay. We will be back. Paul J

"Immaculately clean with great staff"

8.0

I'll start with the good. This hotel is probably the cleanest I have ever stayed in! The hotel staff responsible for the cleaning and maintenance of the hotel really are worth their weight in gold. The whole place was spotless, not even little chips out of paintwork which you would expect from a hotel with lots of children! The room was great too - we had a select twin, and it was perfect for what we needed with a big terrace. The staff are all fantastic. Very friendly and willing to help out whenever needed. The guy who was often on the door at the restaurant in particular was so friendly and welcoming. Food wise, it's ok. I'm glad we went half board though. We had breakfast and evening meal and it was decent enough. A decent amount of choice and relatively varied. The bits that were good tended to be really nice, other bits not so much. Nothing was horrible though, it was all to a decent standard, but like I said, I'm glad we didn't go All Inc and chose to eat out a good few times. It is typically catered for a range of guests, so I never found it very 'Spanish'... In fact, I'd extend that to the area of Sa Coma - it's easier to find a burger than a paella! We tried two of the specialty restaurants too, the Tex Mex one was very nice, and Cardomon was again decent enough. Nothing special. Drinks were great, and this is probably the first hotel I've been to in a while that caters for All Inc that had proper drinks rather than watered down! Perhaps because most of the guests weren't AI and were paying customers on the day. We did notice too that if you ask for a cocktail and are paying upfront, you get the proper treatment. If you are AI, you get a premixed version. Both nice, but the one made up fresh was a lot nicer! Location is good. Sa Coma is definitely an area built for tourism, so if you're expecting authentic Spanish experience then this probably isn't for you. There aren't that many restaurants in the immediate area, moreso cafe/bars that served pizza, chips, burgers, etc. But it is located about a 10 min walk from Sa Coma beach, and 20mins from Cala Millor - both beautiful beaches. White sands, turquoise waters, plenty of sunbeds (but be prepared to pay). Very, very nice. While on sunbeds, that's another good point about the hotel. There were plenty available at all times of the day, no need to rush if you wanted a space by the pool. What isn't the best however is I guess the pool area itself. It is very basic to some extent, and the photos on the website paint it in a MUCH better light. It looks huge on the photos, but it's more medium sized. And most times of the day with around 50 people in it feels very small! We ended up not spending much time by the pool. A lot of the photos on the website / TUI pages make this hotel and area look a lot bigger than it is. Those pictures are also a little misleading around the facilities available. There's quite a few with lovely looking bar areas and seating areas, but they are closed off to holiday makers and are just for those hiring the conference room. I feel like they shouldn't use photos of things that aren't for guests. It was also disappointing to hear that the indoor pool shuts throughout the summer, so where you think you are getting two swimming pools and a kids pool, you are actually getting one medium(ish) sized pool and a small kids splash area. Not great. My daughter can get bored so the idea of having a few places to take her was appealing, and it was disappointing to find this wasn't the case! Same with the kids entertainment. If you are used to Tui Blue or anything like that, prepare to be disappointed! Don't get me wrong, the staff on the entertainment were great and they were so good with the kids, they just need a bit more budget! The entertainment for kids was 25 mins of the hokey kokey et al each night. Again, if you are used to anything more interactive of entertaining this place probably isn't for you. That goes for the evening entertainment too - that was a bit naff. It all takes place indoors in what I'd describe as a nice working mens club. That sort of vibe. And that's the only bar open on a night, so if you don't want to listen to a Bruno Mars tribute act you are outta luck if you want a drink! I'll caveat that I'm not usually the person who goes to the hotel entertainment, but after becoming a parent I have gone along with it at the last few hotels and they've been a lot better, so again perhaps my expectations were set too high! So overall, I'd probably give this a 3.5* rounded up to a 4 as it really is an immaculate hotel with great staff, which I think goes a long way to cover up some of the things I wasn't as impressed with. I probably won't opt to go back, but I don't think I've ever gone to the same hotel twice anyway!
