"A great family holiday"

10.0

I stayed with my two kids aged 12 and 15 in August. We had a great holiday and would return to Protur Sa Coma Playa. I will start with the many positives. The hotel is immaculately clean throughout, the rooms and the main areas. We had an issue with ants in our room but this was dealt with swiftly. The beds are comfy, aircon was great and the rooms are clean and modern, if a little smaller than we’ve had elsewhere (for 3 of us). The staff are all fantastic and work so hard. The reception staff, bar staff, restaurant staff, lifeguards, entertainment team, all of them. We were half board and the food was plentiful and varied, although my kids chose to eat pizza for most meals! I enjoyed the evening food. I didn’t like the cooked breakfast option I found it to be very salty and unusual textures, but I loved all the fresh fruit and pastries and was more than happy with the quality and variety on offer. We had one speciality restaurant visit included in our stay, the kids chose… Italian, for more pizza! We enjoyed being treated to table service for a night. What made the holiday was the sun lounger availability. There were always loungers and parasols available which meant the mornings were relaxed and there was no rush for beds. This is rare and we appreciated this aspect. The adult pool and the indoor pool were also good options. The only negatives I can think of… There werent many other teens but there were lots of toddlers! We all got sore feet from the rough base of the pool. To be fair we spent a lot of time in there enjoying aqua aerobics and playing, but this was a shame. Pool shoes would help with this. On our last day we were collected by transfer bus at 6.20pm to take us to the airport, I’d asked if we could have a buffet lunch that day because we would miss the evening meal. But we were told no, our half board finished after breakfast. On our arrival day we arrived after midnight, so didn’t have any meals that day either, although there was bread and cold meat and cheese available on our arrival, we were all exhausted and went straight to bed. So I feel that we missed out on a meal, as part of our half board! I was given an option to buy a lunchtime buffet for each of us but I was told it’s 32 Euros each! So we went to a local cafe for lunch on our last day and chose… pizza! Overall a fantastic holiday and we would love to go back!

"A Great Hotel, ENJOY!"

10.0

There's alot said about this hotel, which is very good, and you have seen some well deserved good reviews. We are a family here after a 1 week cruise with Tui, which was absolutely amazing. This hotel is..clean, super clean, modern, set in a lively area close to beach, shops, pubs, restaurants etc. Its August and there is alot of toddlers, and the family pool is obviously busy, as expected, lifeguard on duty, it's clean and sunbeds are good. Pool bar excellent with near by toilets. We used the adult pool as over 16s only and was lovely. We dined in the buffet most afternoon and evening and ate at the Fontana which is connected with the hotel, which is a lovely setting but food not so good, pathetic even, I've had better lasagne from Aldi. The drinks are excellent, it's Estrella o draught and branded colas and Fanta etc. Evening entertainment, well we had to go elsewhere, wasn't that good and had to get away from the young children who were having a ball. But the bar staff are great and work very hard making excellent cocktails. We went to the local bars instead mainly the King's head. The beach is lovely and shallow and very warm. In conclusion, it's a great family hotel, theres young kids but expect it this time of year, but you can escape and use the adult pool. Oh and they do some good pool aqua zumba etc. We had a great stay, no real issues, just enjoyed it. The biggest positive has to be the sunbed availability, theres plenty and all in good positions, no getting up before dawn for a sunbed. Relax.

"Family of 4 holiday (including two teenagers) AI weeks holiday. "

10.0

Where do I begin ?!! Sorry for the long post but here goes. Hope you all find this helpful ! My husband and I took our two children (boy aged 13 and girl aged 16) on this All Inclusive holiday for a week. We flew from Luton to Palma and then got airport tranfer to the hotel which took 1.5hrs as we had drop offs on the way. On arrival we were greeted by the lovely Christina. She is fluent in Spanish but originally comes from England so she was very clear with all instructions. Firstly we wanted a safe so we paid €2 a day (total €14) to hire. We didn't need any hotel sunbed towels as we brought our own but the offer was there to have them and pay a deposit (which you would get back). We also paid the hotel tax which was about €60 for the week. (Can't remember exactly how much it was) We paid this on arrival at the reception desk. We were given our room cards and given clear instructions of where our rooms were. We had two rooms and the hotel accomodated our request to have rooms near each other. We were on level 2 and had a balcony each which overlooked the adult only pool. The rooms had a safe, hangers in wardrobe, 2 single beds, sofa bed, balcony with table and chairs, clothes airer on balcony, shampoo and shower gel in shower, hairdryer in bathroom drawer, tea and coffee facilities, plenty of clean towels which were changed daily by the cleaners and a mini fridge which was stocked up daily for all inclusive guests. The rooms got cleaned daily and bedding got made and then changed once in the week. The cleaners did a fantastic job and we couldn't fault the rooms at all. Thankyou to them all. Let me talk about pools - 4 pools. Adult only, family pool, childrens pool (next to family pool) and toddler/ baby pool. All pools clean and good temperature. Lifeguards (blonde hair girl especially) were amazing and always keeping an eye on the pool. Aqua aerobics daily at 11.30am in the family pool. This was led mainly by a very energetic lady called Paula. She was brilliant and a lot of people took part daily. Such great fun. The animation team was led by 4 ladies and we got to know Paula and Madeline very well. These two ladies were full of energy and so approachable. Very lovely and did a great job all week. They never stopped working and were always up for a chat. A great animation team. Pool bar staff also brilliant. A wide variety of drinks (not just local brands). Cocktails, soft drinks, hot drinks all included with all inclusive guests. Mike knew our drinks after a few days and kept us hydrated very well. Thankyou Mike !! A great credit to the staff at the pool bar. Now for food chat- Amazing! The staff in the dining hall do not stop working. They are constantly cleaning, setting, taking plates away, getting drinks to the table and always so friendly. Well done to all the waitress and waiters. Great friendly faces daily. Such a variety of food at all times. Breakfast - you name it, it was on offer. Even English bacon and sausages !! Lunch and dinner was always different. Lots of selection for all ages. Salad station, pizza station, chef cooking all the time, lots of puddings ! We couldn't fault the food ! It was brilliant even for a fussy son- he had good choice daily. This hotel is in walking distance to the beach which was sandy. Had plenty of sun beds although we didn't use them. Around the hotel, there are a lot of niknak souvenir shops. Good value for kids to spend their euros. Plenty for everyone to purchase something. This hotel has a gym free to use and an indoor pool. My daughter and I went for a nosey but decided against working out. Lol. In the hotel opposite (3 mins walk) there was mini golf with two course - easy and hard. This was free to Protur Playa hotel and Spa guests. Great fun. This holiday was wonderful. Just one thing that I want to mention. My son and daughter (and other people we spoke too) cut their big toes on the bottom of the family pool on the first day we arrived. Both of my two had small circular cuts to both big toes. I mentioned it to Christina at reception and she said she would pass it on to the maintenance team. In the end, we went to the local shop and got cheap (€10) swim shoes for the kids and they were fine.

"Family 4 night at end of cruise"

6.0

Stayed 4 nights at end of cruise, 6 of us from 16-75 Reception great on arrival very friendly and helpful quickly sorted rooms 2 doubles both with terrible view and one twin with better pool view. Our rooms all looked very modern and recently renovated, clean during our 4 nights, mini bar on all inclusive was great. Aircon was poor in 2 of 3 rooms, when complained was told doesn’t matter if you put it down to 18 it will go no lower than 23. Hot rooms in 2 out of 3. Beds comfortable, shower good at all times. Food offering was good in buffet all times. There was a grill chef that is clearly very unhappy in his role and I’m suprised as a viewer of his behaviour that he still works at the hotel, almost throwing food at people whilst mumbling in Spanish. Staff in restaurant generally attentive although on multiple occasions we waited a long while for drinks and on 2 occasions were not asked at all, and clearly staff avoid eye contact while passing tables… I want to be clear they are obviously working hard. Pool area good in our experience the blond lady on guard at the main pool should be awarded for her diligence, she is very good at her job. Chairs and parasols always available at any time which was refreshing for a family hotel. Pool bar service was very hit and miss for me, sometimes quick and friendly other times slow and borderline obviously ignored over non all inclusive guests. Adult pool area very good no screaming unattended kids and very attentive bar. Evening entertainment was the worst part of the holiday, absolutely appalling for a TUI platinum hotel no announcements of band or act, very poor sound quality no management of screaming feral kids. Overall the quality of the physical hotel was good but as for being a platinum hotel it’s a play on the fact the hotel is part of a group there and you are able to use SOME of the services of the 3 hotels. We wouldn’t return but if you’re booked, love screaming kids and terrible evening entertainment you’ll be fine.

"A wonderful holiday! "

10.0

We have just returned from 10 nights here and we had a fantastic holiday! It was myself, my husband and our 3 year old daughter and I am so glad we chose this hotel over the Safari across the road! We walked through the Safari to get to the splash park and it was so much busier and felt quite chaotic around the pool. The Sa Coma Playa has a bit more of a chilled vibe and is perfect for younger children. We stayed in room 356. I requested a higher level room with a pool view and the hotel accommodated us! We had sun in the late afternoon and we looked out over the adult only pool. The room was slightly small with not much storage for clothes - but we made it work. It felt cramped with the sofa bed out so we just folded it up each day to give us more space. We made it work and it was fine! The room was so clean and we appreciated the modern feel. It was cleaned every day with fresh towels. There is a kettle with tea and coffee and a mini fridge too. Ask for it to be emptied if you aren't all inclusive so you can store your own food/drink in it. The shower is lovely and the bed was comfy. I agree with others that the glass partition between the room and the bathroom is poor planning - if we wanted to go to the bathroom in the night we had to feel our way around in the dark so as not to wake our daughter up! The one thing that I would improve is the aircon. It was adequate but definitely could have been much better. It didn't go below 18 degrees and the room definitely felt a lot warmer than that most of the time. There is a safe provided which is 2euro a day. The pool area is fantastic. Adult pool area is lovely and so chilled and the main pool is busier but there was always plenty of sunbeds available throughout the day. The kids splash pool was the highlight of our trip. My little girl loved it and we couldn't get her out! It is busy but not overcrowded. We managed to get sunbeds next to it every day and it is the perfect pool for toddlers - not too deep and a fun slide for them! There is also a little play park but that is aimed at the younger children. I would say 2 and under really. Pool towels were provided with a 10euro cash deposit which you got back when returned. The restaurant was fine - busy but that is always to be expected in a hotel like this. The staff greeting you on entry are lovely and welcoming and you can sit either inside or outside. We found the aircon better in the restaurant than in the room and never felt too hot. The food is great! It does get a little repetitive but the staff work so so hard to keep everything topped up. Plenty of choice every day for breakfast and dinner and the fresh fruit is delicious! We appreciated that you could pay as you go each evening rather than keeping a tab for the duration of the holiday as we prefer not to have to pay a huge bill when we leave. However you can choose to put all drinks on a tab and pay when you leave. To avoid the repetition I think it would have been nice if the main buffet did themed nights to add a bit more variation, however the food was really lovely and we never went hungry! Still water was also provided without charge which was a bonus! The entertainment was good but our highlight was the mini disco at 8.30pm every night. Our daughter loved it!! The staff are great with the kids and the waiters are experts are running round with plates of drinks dodging all the kids. The mini disco was about 30 mins and the main entertainment started at 9.30pm. Most nights we only stayed for 20mins as had to get my daughter to bed - but we enjoyed what we saw! The cocktails were lovely and they also can make them alcohol free if needed. We rented a car and were able to park in underground parking free of charge. The area is very touristy with lots of standard tourist shops. Not too much going on but lots of restaurants around for lunch. We went to Delaneys for the ABBA show one evening which was brilliant! A highlight of our trip was being able to use facilities on the complex. There is so much available to guests - mini golf/golf/tennis/padel... the list goes on! Unfortunately we were not able to do any of this but it looked great. We did spend a day at the splash park at the back of the Safari hotel and this was brilliant! So many sunbeds available and free soft drinks and juice on tap all day! Our daughter loved it here too! They also had some little electric cars which you could drive around a track for 3euros. We also spent a day at La Reserva waterpark and this was fantastic too! We were half hard so had to pay 60euros for the 3 of us but it was worth it. We arrived at 10.30am - so many sunbeds and shade available! There was an a breakfast buffet available until 12 and then a lunch buffet from 1 until 3 and then coffee and cake served until 5.30pm. It was impressive and the food was great! No complaints! It isn't a huge waterpark but the toddler section was perfect for us and it was our favourite day out! We spent 1 morning at the beach but it was so busy and hard to get a sunbed unless you arrive super early. The beach eas about a 10min walk away. This hotel is perfect for families with younger children and we definitely hope to return in the future! We had a fantastic holiday and would like to thank the hotel for allowing us to make unforgettable memories as a family! ❤️

Hotel looks fantastic. Very contemporary and minimalist. Great facilities. Rooms are very modern and spacious with very comfortable, big beds. Good selection of food at each mealtime with very friendly, helpful staff. A lot of young children in this hotel so we used the adult pool area which was very quiet and not busy even in August. Children are quite noisy in the dining room as there are a lot of them but our kids were young once so I’m not judging or criticising, just making people aware incase they would rather not have so many young children around them. Beach with loungers for hire within 15 minute walk. Tourist shops and restaurants within 5 minute walk. I would recommend this attractive hotel as we had a really good week where our every need was met.

"Great for young families"

8.0

Friendly, helpful staff who were very good with young children in the restaurants and pool bar. Disappointing that all inclusive was not included in the pool bar for food- had to get dried off before going to the main restaurant. Themed restaurants- no guarantee you can get booked in to the Asian ( appears to be the most popular but doesn’t take large numbers per sitting) if staying for 1 week. Rooms were very clean, not a lot of space to put clothes but did get a good night sleep. Poolside toilets and in our room have no locks on the door- it would have been nice to have had a bit of privacy- put the locks up high for adults to use. Poolside/ sunbeds very clean and splash pad good fun for little ones. We came as a group of 13 and all agreed we would return.
