Wilburton Inn

A beautiful visit to Downton Abbey, the Wilburton Inn is beautify; time travel. The rooms in the mansion have to be seen — no experienced — to be believed. This old-fashioned experience is pure pleasure.

I had the pleasure of staying at the Wilburton for my son's wedding Jun 12-16. From the moment we stepped foot on property we were welcomed with open arms and could not ask for better service. The rooms in the mansion all have their own themes and decor. They are all comfortable with private bathrooms, air conditioning, small refrigerator, iron and ironing board. Because it was a wedding weekend we had a rehearsal dinner provided by a local farm with coal fire pizza and a bonfire to follow. The wedding day was outside with a beautiful setting, cocktail party and receiption after with delicous food and a Ben and Jerry's food truck. A farewell breakfast was also a plus on the last day. Highly recommend the venue for Weddings, Family reunions, girl or boy getaways etc....

This is a heaven on earth! The most magnificent place that I’ve ever been to! The scenery is breathtaking! The mountains and the old trees are amazing!

I've recently attended my third murder mystery dinner at the Wilburton Inn, and every experience has been nothing short of amazing. Although I live locally and haven’t stayed overnight, I can confidently speak to the stunning beauty of the property. The grounds are absolutely breathtaking—rolling hills, sweeping mountain views, a lovely pool, and impeccably restored historic buildings. The food and drinks are always top-notch, but what truly sets the Wilburton apart is the incredible staff. Everyone is warm, welcoming, and goes out of their way to ensure your visit or event is perfect. Whether you're coming for a night of fun or planning a longer stay, you won’t be disappointed. The Wilburton is a gem!

Everything at the Wilburton is magical! From the first step to the last and everything in between was an awesome experience! Myself, my 11 year old son, and my dog are eager to go back! My son even asked me before we left when we were coming back again! Melissa made us feel so special and cared for and so did everyone there! The Murder mystery was awesome and very well put together! The food was amazing and having our dog with us topped it off! There’s no other way I would have wanted to spent my Mother’s Day Weekend this year ❤️

We stayed in the lovely Zinnia room in the strawberry hill villa. Very spacious, comfortable queen size beds and a wonderful view of the mountains. The grounds are beautifully landscaped with indigenous plantings. Check-in was seamless, with Melissa texting us all we needed to know: door codes, amenities, as well as a list of things to do and restaurants in the area. We were there for their Mother’s Day Murder Mystery weekend and it was so much fun! The staff was super friendly, food was excellent (buffet breakfast as well as a buffet dinner during the murder lol). This is a great place to relax and enjoy!

My husband and I spent a fun-filled thoroughly enjoyable weekend at the Wilburton. Melissa and her family welcomed us with open arms. We got a big kick out of the Murder Mystery events! Our room was clean and comfortable and the food proved delicious! The views are inspiring and the grounds are peaceful. First rate all around!

We had a great time running our event at Battenkill Valley Mansion. House is beautiful and well maintained, ballroom fit 25 people for a meeting space, and the ground floor was a good size for splitting up and socializing, all of us could sit at dinner tables plus sunroom table. Bedrooms were nice and the house has many bathrooms. Thermostats make it tricky to do precise temperature control but that's part of living in New England. Kitchen is good for 1-2 people processing food for many, would be hard to handle traffic flow if 20 people were cooking for themselves.

Incredible property… so incredible we got married there 25 years ago, and since then we’ve had numerous family reunions, memorial gatherings, anniversary stays and more. The perfect blend of gilded history, cerebral engagement and Vermont vistas.

After staying at the Wilburton a handful of times in 2024, our family made the decision to do a season rental for the 2024/2025 ski season. We rented the Innkeepers Cottage, and could not have been happier with the experience overall. Location wise, it was perfect. Minutes to all that Manchester has to offer, but with a private, secluded location that felt quite private. Beautiful views to wake up to, enjoy a coffee to or walk our lab around. The primary reason we rented was for the proximity to the skiing in the Manchester area coupled with the dog friendly nature of the Wilburton. The Wilburton was well inside of 20 minutes to Bromley (our favorite), well inside of 30 minutes to Stratton, and we would occasionally do the ~hour drive up to Killington as well (Okemo and Mt Snow are close as well, but we did not make the trips there). We took full advantage of the kitchen within the cottage, but it was wonderful to be minutes from such great restaurants in Manchester (highly recommend the Copper Grouse in the Taconic hotel, Mulligans just up the road for great pub fare, Pearl's Place for a southern twist, among many others). The cottage itself was perfectly appointed for relaxing and enjoying our stay. Laundry meant we didn't have to overpack, the kitchen meant we could have an easy breakfast, make some lunch snacks for the mountain and have a nice family dinner if we did not want to go out. Wood burning fire place kept us warm and cozy after a long day of skiing (and some post skiing s'mores went perfectly with a cup of hot chocolate). While we spent a lot of time with some family board games (some provided in the cottage), reading books from Northshire Books in Manchester while the fire roared, there was also Wifi for when some work issues popped up, as well as smart televisions (Roku provided). The owners and staff were easy to deal with, and incredibly helpful. From restaurant recommendations to helping to procure firewood, to finding a service that would come and walk our dog when we were doing longer day trips to Killington, Melissa, Meesha & Lillian were a pleasure to work with. Overall an incredibly charming place to stay, and look forward to being there again in the future.
