Meliton Hotel

A very clean hotel with friendly staff. Why people moan about its location is beyond me, a little research shows you exactly where it is, and yes, it is out of way, so the choice is yours. Food was fine, salads were plentiful and fresh and there was always a choice of mains. Drinks were locally produced so you shouldn't expect premium brands. This is explained on their website, again the choice is yours. We had a lovely relaxing week, we're happy with the food and drinks and loved the quiet pool area. It is a case of you get what you pay for and we thought it was excellent value for money. Do your research and see if its the place for you.

The staff were lovely, couldn’t do enough, very helpful. Good little tuck shop. The grounds were very well maintained as was the two swimming pools. The beautiful sunsets.

Location, The run down beach area, proximity to the power station! The Pylons and power lines so close to hotel. The two flights of stairs to drag your cases up! No help offered. The food was awful unfortunately.

The people were really kind, the environment relaxing and the position quiet yet really comfortable and near the airport and the main city.

I would have preferred more typical food. I don’t want to eat pasta alla carbonara, as an Italian, when I go to Greece.

Where to start. Not worth 3 star hotel. The main problem is food quality. Worst breakfast we ever had. Really limited buffet. 2 times per week somekind of bacon and fried eggs. Rest of week boring and minimal selection of food.Sausages tastes like plastic. All kind of buffet times you have to order your drinks from bar, non alcoholic or alcohol drinks and that´s makes allways queues in morning time. Coffe from syrup. Vodka was 30%. Lunch was boring but breakfast cook was making better chicken at least. Evening buffet you can see frozen fabric products made up.Sunday was only beef. And there is no other place to go around to eat because you are from 15 minutes away from restuarants. Desserts are from powder, no cakes. Some powder jellys/puddings. Fresh watermelon. Sups are like water. Only white bread, no butter(margarine). Ketchup, mayo, mustard takes like watery. In the Greek night there was moussaka only special thing. There is only 2 times per week entertainment. Tuesday karaoke night and Saturday Greek evening. We took superior room and I reccommend the same after I saw that you have to pay extra for air con. or you are next to pool where cats can visit you or guests can see you in room. Even in All in Exl. you have to pay for extra fresh water bottle. Stoney beach from 15 minutes to walk. Plastic pieces swimming in. Overall. If you want to fry your body in the sun. Eat some fresh tomatoes/cucumber salad everyday and get some drinks. you ll surive. We are not coming back despite nice service people. Good luck.

Well, where to start. The manager sits watching all the time what people are eating, drinking, which wasn't a lot as the food beyond basic. Everyone was filling up on bread and I had an upset stomach everytime I ate from the repetative, unappetising buffet. The beer was so weak you could drink it all day and it wouldn't affect you, it was tasteless. Dinner was supposed to be 7:30 -9:30 but a couple came in one night at 8:10 and there was nothing left. The owner was very rude and told them the food was finished and they should have got there sooner. Both he and the 'chef' were very rude to guests and staff. The location was in the middle of nowhere. If you are an older person or have mobility problems it is too far to keep walking to anywhere. We tried to walk to the village but it is about 45 minutes through unlit dark farmland via a country lane, then a really steep hill, so we turned back. The complementary hotel shuttle to the beach, ran once a day at 10am then, and return was 1pm, unlike the advertised schedule-see photo. It is all about making money- if you want a kettle it is extra charge, air con extra, pool towels, pool table, even scales for luggage in reception all extra! I think that is why the food and even the soft drinks are poor quality so guests will buy from the on sure shop. If tou do stay here you must have a car or spend a fortune on taxis. The bus stop is a good half hour walk again down the unlit lane, and one day we asked the owner if he would mind dropping us by it on the way to the beach as he passed it, he shouted back 'No, beach only' so we started to walk iff, even though my husband is disabled with fractues in his back and walks with a stick, and has health issues. I think he suddenly realised other guests were shocked, so changed his mind and said 'Ok, ok'. The rooms were ok to be fair, and we liked the fact there was a second quiet pool for people who wanted to relax away from the main swimming pool at the other side of the complex. The best staff there are Eva who wirks the bar during the day, and Debbie the waitress . Ilwe found ut very boring as we were stuck there, and wish we had booked the other side of the island where we stayrd in June. Would not go back.we were hoping to get the bus to kalimeros but the bus afain was very infrequent.

I was in Greece for the first time, at the Meliton Hotel for 2 weeks. The food was of very poor quality and very little choice. For the first time on an all inclusive holiday I had to go to the markets for food. Ice cream was only available at lunch and dinner time. No other food available between main meals. No snack bar. The grapes at dinner were made of spiders web. Disgusting. The hotel owner told me that I drink too many drinks and I can only have one beer. Ridiculous. Another time before the bar closed I wanted to order 2 drinks but the bartender said that I had too many at my table and would not give me more. A cat started giving birth during lunch time, no one was interested except the lady from the bar staff. Everything is far away, the nearest beach is rocky. To go sightseeing you have to rent a car. Entertainments only Tuesday and Saturday night. No more. I do not recommend.

We stayed at the hotel for 7 nights with our 19 year old daughter, basic hotel but very clean and tidy, food selection could be better but if your not fussy then like us you will eat well. Rooms are clean but noisy due to there being no insulation in the hotel so you can hear all noises morning and night. Entertainment there is minimal which is karaoke on Tuesday and Greek dancing on Saturday other than that it's make your own. Plus side: Rhodes Town is 3euros on bus one way so we paid 10 for return. Taxi : 35 each way too Rhodes. Airport : 10 min away. Staff are very helpful and speak many languages, eve behind the bar in the day was very helpful and very polite. Pools are nice and chilled and easy to get beds. Overall lovely holiday for family.
