Valued Stay Mayflower

All things were there, it was the cheapest place to stay for a conference in Madison. There is a bus stop close by for getting to the city center.

Could not control central heating. Bed was too soft for my back. Did not meet any staff at reception, everything was done remotely.

I didn’t know I was gonna be staying at the bates motel, this place was underwhelming to say the least, but whatever it’s just one night right, wrong. You pull up to the place, very unimpressive, but the price seemed fair, considering the other options available at the time. The owner/manager, not the most friendly, but that’s ok. Then you get to the room, hard wood floors, that’s nice, but there is this strong smell that just fills up your nose, you can’t put your finger on it, what it is. I was going to just try stick it out but it was just so hard to breath in there, it wouldn’t go away. I sat there for about two and a half hours before I couldn’t take it any more, and had to leave. I checked out and went and stayed at another hotel, please do yourself a favor and don’t stay here!!!

Breakfast was very simple. Could have added some simple protein, peanut butter or hard boiled eggs. Otherwise it was a nice simple variety. Oatmeal, toast, english muffins, cereal/milk, apples and bananas, prepackaged donuts, granola bars and pancakes, coffee and cocoa. Next time I would bring along some nuts or peanut butter as I like to start the day with protein. This is a small older hotel near the beltline. For the price we weren't expecting much, but hotels were booked up for Homecoming weekend and we needed a place to stay. We were surprised with the room. New floors, paint, bathroom tile and shower. Very clean, but simple with no art, etc. Everything we needed. Not a fancy place but clean and great value for the money.Check in was very simple. They were able to communicate via a monitor/speaker, gave me the code to open a little locked box with the room key, and bingo we were in our room. I believe the owner/manager was in their room down the hall. Also the parking lot laid out so you can park very close to your room door.

I got the keys for my room before check-in. Went to a wedding and got to the room at 1:30am. It smelled of smoke. I couldn’t stay there. I had to leave the hotel and drive two hours. They offered me a complimentary stay at a later date but I live far away and will never go there again. I need my money back.

Location was very good

Breakfast was very limited no juice and milk was empty.

Clean but the AC was a bit noisy

Got there with reservation and told me they had no room. Divert to other location on other side of town. Room was dirty and shower was disgusting.
