"Friendly, helpful management Functional location"

8.0

Stayed in this nice hotel with my family of five for two nights. Rooms not perfect in size for big family but works ok for a couple of nights. Staff very helpful and willing to accomodate us best way possible. Perfect location for stralling in Point a Pitre or catch ferry or bus to close by beaches. Nice breakfast with good coffee, fresh fruit, croassants, eggs and variaty of local jams. Point a Pitre is a ghost town by night, this hotel is well located to the plaze du victoriare where one or two restaurants will be found night time, be alert walking dark backstreets in the area

"Very good place to stay"

8.0

There were mixed reviews of this hotel which made me nervous, but I thought it was excellent. Well-located....not only to explore Pointe-a-Pitre, but also if you're taking the ferry to Marie-Galante or some of the other islands. The service was excellent. There was some confusion about me having booked and paid for the room "over the internet", but it was sorted out quickly and professionally. The woman at reception also alerted me I didn't have to be at the ferry terminal as early as I had been told, and that I could share a taxi with other people from the hotel who were taking the same boat - which saved me a considerable price on the journey. The room I had was far better than some of the reviews make out. And the breakfast was very generous - tasty baked goods, yoghurt, juice....even the possibility of eggs. Well done!

"Not bad, just sad."

6.0

I almost gave it a 2 but as I did my best to communicate with the staff in French I felt that I received better service as a result. This is not a bad hotel, just a sad hotel, it is in dire need of refurbishment or failing that a thoroughly deep clean, everywhere. A slightly sour musky smell pervades the corridors There was damp mould in the pointing between the shower tiles and mould on the wall and ceiling above the shower. This could simply be fixed with an occasional wipe over with domestic bleach, surely that's not too difficult? The room lighting was dismally dim. I have said I would not recommend it but if your stay is for one or two nights if you neeed to be in Pointe-a-Pitre then it is just acceptable.

"Not a good experience"

4.0

Probably needs demolishing. Perhaps the area good do with some of the EU monies that are being spent in other parts of the Island!

"John Perse Hotel- Pointe a Pitre"

4.0

We made a reservation because this seemed to be the closest to the airport for our late arrival into Poine a pitre. The area felt sketchy at night-time arrival. The room was closet sized. Shower awful and dirty and there were cigarette holes in the sheets. Elevator frightening. HOwever, the breakfast in the morning was delicious. Would not stay there again.

If I was to return to Guadalupe I would return to this Hotel since the area and locality is how I like it, and also the price.

"The Saint John Perse Hotel at Quai Des Croisieres"

4.0

The hotel is old, decadent, smells bad. The restroom smells even worse, and in the first room the lavatory had no water. I asked for another room. The lady at the front desk asked me whether I had already used the bed, and when I answered I hadn´t the lady at the reception told me that I should go to anothe room (I guess that if I had used the bed I would have to remain in this room...). Nobody helped us to bring our luggage to the new room. She gave us a room with a horrible view to a falling-apart house. I asked her for another room, and after a another grimace she gave us another room with a nice site over the harbor. I and my wife went out for dining, and I forgot to give back the keys of the first room. When we came back, I entered the hall, said ´good evening´, the lady did not answer and shouted at me asking for the keys. Next day, at breakfast room, the waitress was nice, but the floor and the table cloths were quite dirty. This day the staff at the front desk was nicer and more polite than the previous day.

"disappointed."

6.0

night clerk not English speaking-fluent, (when taxi did not appear on time), TAXI DRIVER (HAD BEEN DRINKING/WAS ASLEEP IN TAXI IN HOTEL LOT; hotel room was clean and comfortable; elevator kept going up/down, (4 times before opening door on 3rd floor-! so we carried our luggage down 3 floors!) no (requested) "wake-up call"; security was ok. (locked lobby) no restaurants or stores open after 4:30 pm or early am.

"Not impressed"

4.0

It is an area and a hotel which are past their "sell-by-date" and there are virtually no facilities for eating in the area in the evening. The hotel offers no facilities to help overcome this. It seems however to be the only hotel in Pointe â Pitre.

"OK for a brief stay"

6.0

Guadeloupe is a great place to visit, but its capital Pointe a Pitre is not a place to linger - which may be why this seems to be the only hotel there. The location is good, by the sea front (docks!), but rooms are small (showers too small); a reasonable buffet breakfast is included.
