Saint John Perse

This was horrible. The internet pictures are totally deceiving. It is located in the worse part of Pointe-a-Pitres. It's dirty & old. There were prostitues right outside at night and homeless people sleeping by the hotel between the "paying" parking lot & the building. On my floor where my room was, there was NO lights working at all. I had to use the flashlight of my phone to go to my door. 2 requests to rectify ignored. Most views are of decaying bldgs around. Not safe to walk outside at night. There are only 2 restaurants open til 10pm in a walking distance (KFC & a Pizza place). You have to leave your room key at the desk every time you leave the hotel. Cleaning lady never left soap in the room (i had to ask at the desk & clerk couldn't find any). Rooms are very small & A/C turns off as you leave the room because you have to insert the room key in the A/C slot to turn it on. Once you pull the key out, A/C turns off. Have I said enough??? I could go on!

Overall experience was not the best. Had friendly staff. Rooms needed working on. Beds were not comfortable. Even the staff at the cafeteria during breakfast were terrible. But what could I have asked for at $72 per night

This is a very basic hotel and not worth the cost except for its proximity to the ferry terminal. The neighborhood surrounding the hotel is 'seedy' and the entrance is locked at all times. The breakfast was the best part of our stay.

Very helpful staff. Small rooms/bathrooms. Not so sure about safety of neighborhood, only chosen to be in walking distance of the ferry to Les Saintes.

Is an ok hotel for a couple of nights stay,buffet breakfast is nothing to write home about

Closest hotel to the airport for morning flight - there's no other reason to bother staying in the city, or this hotel. Expensive for what you get, rooms are uninspiring but comfortable and breakfast is included. No point staying here unless you have to, otherwise go somewhere a bit further out nearer the beach.

This hotel is a dump... Its in the side of building and you have to go down an alley to get the to front desk.. I saw nothing in the pics that resembled where I stayed at.

this is no more than a two star hotel, and overpriced for what one gets. i would not recommend it to famlies, but to those who want a no frill place. the neighborhood is absolutely dead at night, but ok during the day. breakfasts are quite satisfactory and the hotel is clean though worn. it is not a place where one wants to hang out. a/c and wireless are good.

convenient for a one night stay because of the location but would not recommend for a long vacation stay.

As per other reviews, this hotel is solid without being extraordinary. It was comfortable and clean and relatively inexpensive. There is not much around on a Sunday. The two reception staff I met tried hard to help me as I speak little French, although one tried to explain herself by speaking slightly slower in French.
