Sol Torremolinos - Don Pablo

Another lovely holiday at the Sol Don Pablo! We returned for our ninth stay after staying at the Don Marco at Easter while this hotel was closed for refurbishment. The hotel exterior and balconies look great following the renovation work. Our room was clean and comfortable. We were pleased to have requested a specific type of room before arriving and have that room type given. So many of the staff including restaurant staff, bar staff, cleaning staff and people at reception were friendly and helpful, as they have been on our previous visits also. They all worked very hard after an afternoon of heavy rain to clean the flooded dining room ready for dinner that evening. For Halloween, the hotel made a big effort with decorations, staff dressing up and putting on a night of entertainment for the children. The all inclusive option is very good. The alcoholic drinks are branded, there are bags of crisps, icecreams and bottled water available and meals in the restaurant are good. Lunch and dinner can be similar with repeating options (themed nights to offer some variety would be nice) but there is always choice at each meal of fish/meat, pasta, pizza, other hot dishes, salads, breads and cheeses, plus many dessert choices. Breakfast has many cooked options and lots of cakes and pastries. My reason for not giving a 5 rating is linked to the food and my experience on this visit as a vegetarian. The food menu at the pool bar has changed since my last visit and there is no longer a vegetarian meal choice listed as all inclusive on the menu. There always used to be a margherita pizza as an all inclusive option for all of my previous holidays, but that has been removed. The only all inclusive vegetarian choice was a snack of nacho chips with guacamole which is okay for a snack but not a lunch meal option, so I felt a bit excluded from being able to eat lunch there on this holiday. Having already paid to be an all inclusive guest, I didn't feel it was fair to then have to pay extra for something vegetarian for lunch when non vegetarians had many all inclusive options to choose from. Also, I had several experiences during breakfasts at the omelette station where I asked for an omelette with cheese and mushroom but had to ask the chef the wash out the bowl first as she was going to add my ingredients into a bowl with pieces of ham left stuck around the side from a previous omelette. The same tools were also used to flip/chop ham omelettes and ham toasted sandwiches as were used for meat free options like eggs and pancakes, and ingredients for the omelettes were picked out by the chef by hand (wearing gloves that were not changed) when spoons were in each bowl of ingredients ready to be used. This surprised me and I wouldn't have expected that when food is being prepared or cooked. Overall, we really enjoy visiting this hotel and the area and are looking forward to returning over Easter.

Brilliant,loved the hotel,staff hardworking and friendly. Rooms large,spacious and clean. Pool bar great,food at pool bar really good. Restuarant large and clean. Food great and varied,even with 1 of our fussy eaters,pastries at breakfast lovely,serving staff really good,ice cream machine was a bonus for my youngest Plenty of sunbeds and pool area really good Couple of small things that could be improved to benefit guests but minor. The warming pots that keep food warm,take the lid off to get your food,nowhere to put the lids,hinged warming pots might be a good idea. Maybe a choice of the big serving spoons at the main serving area,spoons with holes to allow juice from meal to run out and solid spoons if you want the juices from the pot. There are also some rooms with a 2 lounger area but no access to the pool,you get hot on the lounger and want a dip in pool,you have to walk right through the hotel,never saw anyone on the loungers Entertainment good,drinks flowed freely on all inclusive. Torrential rain one day and restuarant got flooded,next morning spotless. With the flooding we ate in sister hotel,seamless transaction. Games room had pool tables and other games but no tips on the cues so not really played on so hotel losing money. Gem walk would pick that up. Nice refurbishment of the outside of the hotel, looks very smart and modern now. Big improvement. Fab position on the seafront can walk for miles. Plenty of little shops and couple bars next to hotel. It's kept immaculately clean, housekeepers staff were great, attended to our room every day no matter what time we went out . There are several pools and loads of sunbeds, A bit chilly for me but well used by others. Great cafe bar overlooking the sea where you can enjoy the all inclusive snacks and drinks. The restaurant was the only place that could have a bit of improvement- it says evening dinner is served till 10 pm but if you go after 8-30 there would often be no tables laid up, you d be scratching around for a knife and fork! Waiters are obviously busy so often you would have nearly finished eating by the time they came for a drinks order. The food was overall good, lovely salads, paella, soups, breads, cheeses and even 'mr whippy icecream machine'. The meat cuts and lamb chops etc looked lovely but were tough to cut and worse to chew! Could have done with a chilli or a curry option Spice things up a bit. Breakfasts were the best, everything you could think of and well cooked - no complaints there. The smaller restaurant downstairs was much more peaceful environment to eat in and staff were very good. Entertainment every evening- some very good singers in bar Jerez, and a nice little place to have a drink. Staff in the bars worked very hard and bars stayed open till 12-30 on the A/I which was unusually good. To crown it all we had fab weather which was amazing.🤩 🌞Hopefully see you for a third visit ✈️

Date of stay was 14th to 24th October 2025 All Inclusive package with Jet2 Holidays. 😊Pros: Location right on the promenade. Most of the staff were friendly and efficient in the restaurants and bars. 😒 Cons: If your room is not ready on arrival expect to be told thatCheck-In is at 3pm, no checking with cleaners to gee things along as other hotels seem to do. Room adequate but in need of a refurbishment as looked very dated with holes in the blackout curtains and worn out towels in the bathroom. Meal times could be a scramble due to there being 3 hotels in what Melia call a resort but not all 3 open their restaurants at the published meal times and guests from the Don Marco and/or Don Pedro told to use the Don Pablo restaurant. Don Pablos evening dinner was advertised from 18:30 until 22:00 but when we entered at 21:00 both the meat and fish "show cooking" stations were closed and staff were in the process of cleaning them down. The rest of the menu was not inspiring at all, whether this was down to the time of year I could not say. Meals the following day were a re-run of the previous days and after this we ate out for our evening meal for the last 7 days of our stay unless you lived on salads and desserts all the time.I would not class this hotel as 4*.

We stayed at the Don Pablo in June 2025 and again in September 2025 , the reason for the delayed September review is because you can’t post a new review for a certain period since our last visit in June. Again we just want to reiterate how much we enjoyed our September stay, all renovations are now complete and the hotel has a very modern new facade with some completely renovated rooms. We just love the Pablo for its location, friendly and relaxing atmosphere . We always go half board and for the most the food is really good with great choices. Our thanks again to Miguel and Claudia, it is so nice to return to a hotel and be acknowledged by the staff as a returning visitor. Beautiful hotel situated on the seafront, within walking distance of the town centre, shops and restaurants. There are three hotels in this large complex with friendly security at main entrances. The hotel is very clean throughout. The bedroom was quiet, large and bright and cleaned professionally every day. To relax there is a large swimming pool area with plenty of room for sun loungers, also a gym for the more athletically inclined. Plus other amenities. The breakfast was poor and the evening meal adequate.

Sol Don Pablo. just returned from one week all inclusive, fourth stay at this Hotel, The hotel is in a prime position facing the beach , Lots of shops just outside hotel, nice walk along the sea front, i can not give any bad reviews about our stay, The staff are always smiling, Reception very helpful, The Waiters work their socks off in the restaurant and are always ready to bring Drinks to your table The food is very good ,lots of choice , Bar staff are a happy bunch you couldn't wish for better, cleaners are always cleaning, Rooms very clean, lovely mattress very comfortable indeed, pillows fluffy, beds changed regularly same with towels, pool area cleaned every day plenty of sunbeds 10/10 excellent keep up the good work Already thinking about next years stay

I stayed at this hotel for 5 nights with family. It was my 30th birthday whilst I was there & the hotel surprised me with a complimentary bottle of rose on my birthday. The cleanliness of the hotel was great & the staff were nice & friendly also, i can't speak any Spanish but they understood my English very well. A special shout out also to Lidia who works behind the pool bar, she was very helpful & friendly. I'd recommend this hotel 😊

A wonderfully placed hotel with allocation of beautiful side sea view (pool facing) room. Very friendly hotel staff; especially the pool bar and it's an inviting, relaxed environment overall. Disappointed with lack of gluten free choices and mediocre buffet choices to be honest. Schar muffins and a bit of bread with a toaster at breakfast time is really not sufficient as a gluten free area when so many people now have specific dietary requirements. All rice dishes, chips and desserts contained gluten and the ice cream was disgusting and cheap. I did get to try the gluten free chocolate cake but was fed up of putting my hand up at the table to ask for it like a naughty school child. Cold meat choice very poor at lunch times. Moving forward it would be highly beneficial to clients to have a designated area for dietary restrictions especially when having paid an all inclusive price. Drinks were excellent and coffee very good but I would not go all inclusive again.

We are frequent visitors to the Sol Don Pablo over the years and in 2025 we visited in June and September. The hotel has had a face-lift and what a transformation, a beautiful new facade and gardens now back to the tranquil environment we have always experienced at the Don Pablo.We are fans of the beach and this is just a couple of minutes from the back entrance of the hotel A mention to Raoule from the beach who is so helpful when it comes to securing sun shade and beds on the beautiful long sandy beach. The staff at the Don Pablo are excellent, a great choice of meals to suit everyone and all served with a smile . Each evening there is a choice of entertainment,by the pool bar or the main entertainment area In the morning you can see a team of outdoor and indor staff working away to maintain the high cleanliness standards well done to all.
