Sol Torremolinos - Don Pablo

We visited for 8 nights in September. We had previously visited the Hotel on several occasions and had emailed in advance asking for a room overlooking the Bowls Green. This was provided although the Green is being refurbished so is out of use. This side of the Hotel gives the Afternoon sun and is away from the outside entertainment area so is much quieter. We were All Inclusive, for the first time and it seems that many more visitors are going that way . I was surprised that the Bars were happy to take cash, card payment or charge to the room if not All Inclusive. Overall the food was very good with plenty of choice and in the main hot, although it would have been nice to have had a couple of theme nights to vary things. At Breakfast there were a number of different cakes available and it would have been nice to have seen some of those available at lunch or dinner rather than the 'creamier and sweeter' choices. The only small blemish on the Restaurant was that used plates were not cleared away very quickly and sometimes getting a drink was a slow process. A few more staff would solve this.

Hi we stayed in studio room with sea view but indeed this room was not on the sea at all and view to see was only partial and blocked by other buildings The room did not offer value for money My husband got food poisoning in the hotel restaurant and the solution offered to me was that I should walk to the pharmacy in the main town at 1am to grab him some medicine as the local pharmacy was closed . we lost two days of our holiday to him being sick and the hotel just didn't care one bit and offered ZERO help coffee only available in the morning huge negative and water 3 euro a bottle we would not stay again

I rarely leave negative reviews, but my stay here has been completely overshadowed by a constant, loud mechanical noise (like an engine or AC plant/room) that makes it impossible to relax or sleep properly. ( and I mean the whole night, every 120 seconds you could feel the vibration of whatever that is making the noise. When I raised this with the staff, I was simply told there’s nothing they could do about it. 2 days later after I email them directly they offered me a room, next door literally! For a hotel that positions itself as a place of rest and comfort, this is unacceptable. Noise this disruptive should be addressed seriously, not brushed aside. Sadly, instead of a restful stay, I’ve left more exhausted than when I arrived The staff, restaurant and such were really good! I hope the hotel management do something about that as I am sure I am not the first one bringing this up and for future guests. I stayed at room 1235

Absolutely Superb Hotel! Staff were extremely pleasant, courteous & friendly. Food & drink were excellent & location is second to none. A few km from the airport. Will definitely be back. (Inclusive is the way to go!) Photos - View from room & looking to Torremolinos from Benalmadena!

The hotel itself is nice, large family room, clean except: - ANTS, and we talked with front desk repeatedly - the all inclusive supper does not include WATER / flat or sparkling so how is this an all inclusive meal. - no coffee machine in room and breakfast opened late - they expect you to keep the beach towel during your stay or pay for wash but we had no balcony to dry the towels! wil not return, the Melia chain would know better but service declining in Caribbean resorts as well

been to Sol Don Pedro and Don Pablo before , so knew the hotels before arriving. every thing about the trio of hotels is GREAT. STAFF [maintenance] HOTEL FOOD DRINKS ENTERTAINMENT STAFF [ cleaners] STAFF [bars] STAFF [ kitchen] STAFF [waiters] only ONE BIG complaint is how SHORT of STAFF there are !!! long lines of guests at bars after dinner plates left on tables guests are still using. waiters run off there feet trying to get drinks and clear tables.. shame spoils a great place. oh and their no putting towels on sunbeds to keep them when not in attendance is not enforced,,not hotels fault but ignorant guests

Beware if you book a “side sea view” room in the Don Pablo. We did and regretted it. You could see the sea, side on at a distance but, much closer to our room was the road in front of the hotel and directly below the balcony the hotels maintenance and repair depot. This operates Mon-Sat all day- the noise is horrendous. So no chance of sitting peacefully on your balcony. We chose not to change room ( we didnt ask) as we arrived late at night and unpacked and only realised the next day. We decided to just stay out of the room for the remaining few days, which we did.

We stayed in the Don Marco in July and decided to revisit at the end of August but chose the Don Pablo. We booked direct and told them we would be arriving at 11ish and when we arrived our room was already ready . We booked a superior side sea view room and we ended up on the 6th floor facing the bowling green side which was not as good a view but much quieter than the pool side . Room was much bigger than our Don Marco room and had a good amount of storage space . We had a shower over the bath and I would have preferred a shower cubicle but it wasn’t an issue . Safe was free and had quite a big fridge for our drinks. Bed was quite soft for us but others might love it . Good quality chunky pillows . Tv worked well and had bbc1 , ITV, channel 4 and channel 5 which was good when you were getting ready for the evening . Cleaners kept the room very clean and changed our sheets a few times during the week . There was sometimes a wait for lifts especially the ones nearest reception. The 2 at the far end nearest the pool seem to be quicker. We used the Don Pablo pool and we went down at 8am and there were still loads of sunbeds still free , it didn’t seem to get busier until 10.30 or so. Pools were freezing when you first got in but warmed up after a bit of being in. The pool areas were very slippy so you need to be careful. Pool bar was pretty quick to get served if you timed it right and there was some nice shady bits to sit under with your drinks. Activities happened at the big pablo pool and the pedro pool. The 3 hotels are set across numerous levels so it could be a bit tricky for those with mobility issues , you might end up having to take long way rounds to access all the areas without using stairs. We went all inclusive and overall the food is good quality , the only issue that happens is the food doesn’t stay very hot so you have to catch it when it is just replaced or just cooked on the grill as they aren’t kept in those metal dishes in boiling water that other hotels have they are just in cast iron dishes . Lots of choices of breads and salad items and desserts. This time they had an icecream machine which they didn’t have in July. Drinks in the restaurant were excellent as they were all bottled but sometimes on an evening there was quite a wait for a waiter to take your order. On an evening there was entertainment in the Jerez bar , the beach bar and the English bar , we watched a couple of shows at the English bar and they were really good . We enjoyed our holiday overall and would definitely visit again .

My husband, daughter and I had the pleasure of staying at this wonderful hotel in August, and we couldn't have been more impressed. Having stayed in many 5-star hotels, this one stands out as being among the very best—if not surpassing many of them. The location is ideal, the hotel is immaculately clean, and the food is absolutely delicious. However, what truly made our stay exceptional was the outstanding service, particularly from Front office manager (think his name was Josie, apologies if incorrect) Veronica and Claudia at reception. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted warmly with a smile and efficiently handled our check-in. Throughout our stay, Veronica consistently went above and beyond, always offering a friendly wave and asking how our trip was going. She genuinely cared about our experience and made sure we felt welcome and looked after at all times. Her personal touch really elevated our visit, and we will definitely be returning.

On the whole we had a lovely 7 night break as a family of four travelling with 2 children aged 12 and 15. However for us the hotel is not quite a 4 star and below are the pros and cons that help justify: Pros: - nice room that had been refurbished with very nice bathroom layout (we had the junior family suite) - lovely pool areas and the guards really do enforce the no towels on beds rule which makes a difference. - spotless in every way and rooms cleaned to high standard - great location - staff are lovely -Use of multiple hotel restaurants Cons: - the having to queue for drinks throughout the hotel is bad, sometimes 15 deep. Never in a Spanish hotel have I not seen waiter service and this is something you would expect in even a two star. - they gym is far below a four star. No complimentary towels and no water fountain. Basic kit and really small -wifi is horrendous throughout. - slightly expensive for drinks and food -food repetitive and not worth a 4 star service Some tips: - if your a gym buff there is a great one in the town center called Atlantis. Lovely walk and only 6 euros a day - use the pesto restaurant for breakfast, far quieter, same selection but cooked better as it’s less chaotic and the staff seem more pleasant
