Sol Torremolinos - Don Pablo

I booked a few months ago as reviews were positive, had email a week before departure date telling me there was building work going on and I could have a choice of going elsewhere or sticking with this hotel. I spent about three or four hours trying to book somewhere else as I was thinking it’s going to be a construction site and the holiday will be ruined and to be honest I’m glad I didn’t get anywhere else as there was no availability anyway., but the building work is at the front and the side of the hotel. The pool area is in the middle and there is no disturbance whatsoever.. So don’t be put off. I found the hotel clean. The staff friendly the food is good enough but there’s so many restaurants around if it’s not for your liking you can go out.. Entertainment is okay to good-ish, there are plenty of sunbeds around at 9:30 to 10 o’clock, no I’ll put on some beds if they’re left with a towel on and no one around you get given an hour and 15 minutes to get back to your bed if you have put your tail down. I would definitely come here again.

The hotel is in a good location, with easy access to the nearby beach and shops. The standard of cleanliness is very good and there is a good choice of food at both breakfast and dinner. We had a few issues with our room initially (no balcony), our daughter’s room flooded after first use of the shower, we had to be moved to another room, this was handled quite well by Reception. However, the biggest issue with this hotel are the dangerous slippery tiles around all the pool areas, we witnessed many falls, one quite serious, in the week we stayed there. This issue needs to be addressed at the earliest opportunity to avoid any further accidents and potential claims against the hotel. In this current day and age, these tiles could be treated with a non slip coating to give a better grip, without the obvious expense and disruption involved in replacing them.

we are currently staying at this hotel and we love it so much! absolute perfect location overlooking the beach, there are 3 outdoor pools which have so many activities going on every day! the rooms are spotless and the balcony is really nice to chill on, the food is fab & as a picky eater, i never struggled to find something to eat, the staff are extremely friendly and the nightly entertainment is top level, we have enjoyed every act we have seen!! we are enjoying our time here so much, the all inclusive terrace has delicious food and a beautiful view of the sea with ice cream & slushy machines!! highly recommend staying here

We were aware of the ongoing building works when we booked and did get slightly nervous hearing they were still happening prior to our arrival but have to say it made no difference at all to our stay. Our room wasn't that far away and at times you could hear some works going on but not any louder than the chat and kids by the pool so no worries at all. The Hotel itself is spotless and the room was nice and cool with great air con and a good size for myself, wife and daughter. Check in was seamless and only took around 10 minutes after catching a taxi from the airport which took less than 15 minutes and cost around 25 euros. We found the food to be absolutely fine and always something on offer with plenty options at breakfast and dinner. The breakfast in our opinion was very good with fresh eggs and omelettes available every morning and always easy to get a table either inside or out on the terrace. We tended to eat at the snack bar upstairs for lunch being all inclusive which was originally a buffet but changed half way through our holiday to a la carte so perhaps made the food even fresher and consisted of the usual burgers, hot dogs etc... Does have an ice cream machine too and plenty sweets and treats for the kids. The pool bar was excellent and no issues getting a drink at any point throughout the day and the staff were always really friendly and helpful. There is a snack bar downstairs at the bar which I believe you can order from if you're all inclusive and pay 70% but we didn't find much need for that to be honest. With having a wee girl under 2, we were up pretty sharp each morning so no problem at all getting sunbeds on any day and seemed plenty available until mid morning. There is almost 3 levels with the kids at the bottom, older kids and families in the middle and a higher level which seemed to be more adults but kids are allowed as we set up base here. There is a walkway leading to the Don Marco which is adults only so ideal if you want some peace and quiet. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would certainly recommend the Hotel and we are already thinking about booking a return since we enjoyed it so much. There are plenty nice bars and restaurants close by but if you come out the Hotel and turn right then there is a lane leading you to the lift to take you up to the top of Torremolinos which is like a new resort in itself with a great buzz and well worth heading up to when you can. Thoroughly enjoyable stay with lovely staff throughout the Hotel from check in, breakfast, bars and the guys entertaining the kids.

Super hotel, bardzo czysto - pokoje i łazienki nowe, codzienne sprzątanie, duży balkon z bocznym widokiem na morze, dobre jedzenie (duży wybór). Codziennie animacje - w ciągu dnia przy basenach, wieczorem w restauracji koncerty i występy. Wszystko niezbyt głośne, nie przeszkadza osobom, które nie chcą w nich uczestniczyć. Świetna lokalizacja przy samej plaży. Leżaki na plaży płatne 7 € za sztukę.

When we got to the hotel we were told that we have been upgraded ..OMG.. we were given room 8102 it was brilliant, wrap around balcony, with views of the sea ,and we even had deck chairs on it.... the only bugbear... no toilet brush... We stayed there on half board, and the food was of a good standard there was always plenty to chose from at breakfast and diner time, but they're not in a hurry to clear your table. The staff at the hotel were very polite and very helpful and the grounds were clean. There was building work going on but we didn't even notice it. We were given cards to get the pool towels at no cost, but if you wanted to change then you had to pay 1 euro {no big deal}and the safe is also free. The morning dash for the sunbeds was excellent entertainment,{ I think they should have the Benny Hill music playing in the background} There were always sunbeds available throughout the day, but not with umbrellas, and as we didn't sit around the pool it didn't bother us, but after you came in from whatever you were doing about 16:00 there were so many empty beds. All in all we had a great time and I would definitely recommend this hotel

We have just arrived back from our second stay at Don Pablo and we enjoyed it yet again. Yes there is building work going on we were quite near it however if we had the balcony door locked we found we all slept in til 9:30/10.00 tbh I don't think it was too disruptive. The up grade on the hotel is looking great. Last year we never had an issue with sunbeds this year there was a large group who liked to hold a lot of sunbeds and not show up to the afternoon. We found we got beds about 9:30 but we would take two as our child would be swimming for a lot of the time. Other families around were much the same. The pool does operate a system if beds left unattended for 1.5hrs they will remove towels, Which I saw them do it's very hard for lifeguard staff and staff to regulate that. Everyone is doing their best. We never didn't get a bed. And even found if we went over to other pools during the day we got one to sit at over there. Plenty of spots around. Hotel is spotless and clean inside and out and staff are all working hard to ensure this. House keeping staff are great no issues with the room. Shout out to the amazing entertainment staff who work tirelessly to engage guests in activities which are great fun if you partake in and if not they are a pleasure to watch. They are genuinely having fun together as they work throughout the day. Lots of family fun to be had. We were all inclusive and I can't complain about the food or drink. I think there is really plenty of choice for all meals, plenty of fish/meat, veg, potatoes, pasta, salads only I would have liked to see some plain rice to accompany my meat/fish. Even our fussy 7year old always found something to eat. We also got good use from the snack menu at the beach bar again the 7year old could get pizza or burger etc. Restaurant staff are friendly, efficient and working hard. Bar staff are great never queuing for too long during busy times. Always a smile to accompany your drink. We can't wait to return again. Thank you Don Pablo for another fabulous family holiday!

Really good location, big hotel with gym arcade pools staff helpful and big clean rooms

I’ve been a regular guest at this hotel for many years and have seen many changes over time — some of which were very positive, including the modernisation of the facilities and previously excellent food standards. Even when the hotel reopened after the Covid pandemic, despite some restrictions, the overall experience remained enjoyable. Unfortunately, my recent stay was disappointing. The hotel reopened while renovation works were still ongoing, leaving a noisy building site in full view — a real eyesore that disrupted the peaceful environment I had come to expect. Breakfast was generally good and offered a wide variety of options. However, the fruit juices were heavily watered down and tasted quite poor. Dinner was the biggest letdown: the quality of food has significantly declined. The meat was often chewy, full of gristle and sinew, fatty, and either undercooked or extremely overcooked and dry — in some cases, completely inedible. Additionally, the serving plates were scalding hot; I actually burned my fingertips, which is a real safety concern. I also used the gym daily, but one of the treadmills was out of order throughout my stay. Despite reporting it three times, nothing was done, and the machine remained broken even on the day I checked out. This led to unnecessary waiting times during busy periods. It’s disappointing to see the quality and attention to detail decline so significantly. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and works on restoring the standards that once made this hotel a pleasure to return to.

I have stayed at Sol Don Pablo, Torremolinos for more than 10 years. I have seen many changes which have been for the best. The on-going works to improve the balconies are great (although the buiding works from 8am sometimes until 7pm didn't create the relaxing experience I am used to), but it seems that has come at the expense of the basics. This year was a real disappointment. The variety and quality of the food has declined. The variety of vegetables has been reduced with tortilla and even yorkshire pudding replacing vegetables! It wouldn't be so bad if Roast Beef was available to go with the yorkshire pudding but it wasn't. The quality of the meat was sometimes very poor. Turkey is available almost every day, in a sauce (often dry), or on the carvery. Sausages as a main meal choice isn't 4*. At breakfast the fruit juices used to be fantastic, especially the carrot juice. This year the fruit juices were watered down and in large dispensers. You could even see the water and juice separating! The coffee was quite bitter. There were no strawberries at breakfast. The croissants have gone back to being served freshly cooked which means they aren't always available and as they are warm they are soggy. We meet other guests there who also go regularly (we see them every year), they agree the food isn't so good this year. The main issue I had however was with WiFi. It was very intermittent, always freezing, spinning circles, impossible to make a call. I tried calling reception but the person couldn't hear me. The phone then died and we had no dial tone. I went to reception, who sent the engineer up who disconnected and reconnected the access point. Things improved for a short time. Over the course of 8 days the situation didn't improve despite contacting the customer experience manager. In the end I suggested the harware in the room needed replacing and eventually an engineer did just that and the issue was resolved. It's a shame it wasn't done when I first raised the issue. I had a very frustrating time and spent many hours trying to get the issue resolved. I was really disappointed in the way the hotel dealt with the issue (even suggesting after 8 days I could move to another room which would leave the issue for another guest!). So much for loyalty. I used to look forward to staying at the Don Pablo. I know it can be better. I hope it improves before regular guests go elsewhere.
