Sol Torremolinos - Don Pablo

We had a weeks all inclusive holiday at the don pablo in torremolinos we found the hotel excellent the food was good rooms were cleaned every day clean towels provided everyday the only problem was being able to get a sun bed round the 3 pools which was supposed to open at 10am we went down at 9.15 all sun beds had towels on them and no bodies we had to use the beach everyday to sunbathe at 12 euros a day

The double room we stayed in was lovely and spacious with plenty of clothing storage as well as counter space and other places to store belongings. Beds were super comfy and I slept really well each night! The air conditioning was also lovely and kept us nice and cool during the night without being noisy at all. Rooms were also cleaned every day and towels changed if needs be. The bathroom also had plenty of storage space around and under the sink for toiletries and also had a super handy de-fogging feature on the mirror for when you get out of the shower. Shower was wonderful too and had unreal water pressure. There is 3 outdoor pools as well as an indoor pool between the 3 hotels and guests are permitted to use all 4 which we really enjoyed, especially as sometimes the main pool in don pablo got quite busy and crowded with children during the day and being able to nip over to the adults pool which was less than a 2 minute walk from the pool in don pablo was lovely. We also visited the third outdoor pool which even features sun loungers in the pool! In terms of regular sun loungers we never had an issue with finding sun beds together for 4 people. Usually we just left the towels out on the way to breakfast at around half 9 in the morning and we always found loungers and umbrellas close to the pool. There is also a bar just by the pool where you can grab drinks and snacks. The pool entertainment is also top notch with activities like water basket, water aerobics and pool biking available daily. We were half board and as a picky eater I was very satisfied with the selection of food on offer. There was a huge range of both hot and cold items for all 3 meals and I never struggled to find something to eat. It was also nice to be able to switch between breakfast and lunch depending on what we felt like on the day. The breakfast selection was particularly great with a huge selection of fried items, hot pastries, cold pastries, meats, cheeses, fruit, breads, juices, salads.. literally anything you can think of they had! The location was also great, only a minute from the beach and about a 15/20 minute walk into the centre of Torremolinos although there is a lot of stairs so beware! There is also a lift that operates for 50 cent per person to reach the centre either if you don’t feel like taking on the stairs. Plenty of shops and restaurants down by the beachfront also and the hotel is only about a 20/25 minute walk (again uphill so beware!) from Torremolinos train station where you can easily head to Malaga, the nearby Plaza Mayor shopping centre, Fuenguirola, Benalmadena and a wide range of other nearby towns. Overall loved my stay here and happy to recommend to anyone!

I like the location, very close to anything you want like beaches and entertainment

We returned home 2 days ago after an 8 night stay at the Don Pablo. We have stayed here twice before and this has made our recent stay all the more disappointing. We arrived at 1am in the morning,went straight to bed. We were in room 1633. We awoke Monday morning to the sound of building work one floor down from our balcony. Please see my photos. We had no idea there would be building going on during our stay,neither the hotel or Onthebeach had informed us. Also, on previous stays,there was a car park right next door to the hotel which was ideal for our hire car. Not this time because the car park is having a refurb so we had to park 10 mins away in another car park which cost 20 euros per day. And a very warm walk back to the hotel in 40 plus degrees heat. If we had been made aware of all this prior to our stay we could and would have stayed elsewhere. I'd like to also point out that we were in the standard type room but even so, a toilet brush would have been appreciated. It's nice to be able to keep the loo clean instead of relying on the cleaner to remove 'splatters' ! Also there was no shelf to put your toiletries on in the shower which was inconvenient. We're not ancient or infirm but having to keep picking toiletries off the shower floor was annoying. Also the shower screen is half the width of the shower cubicle so the floor was soaked everytime u used it unless u put towels on the bathroom floor. I leave many reviews as we travel frequently and I give an honest fair opinion of the good and bad. The food is fabulous, the pools are lovely but u need to be up early to get a sun lounger. Many ppl leave towels on them for hours and don't even use them. I put towels on ours at 8am, went for breakfast then back to the pool. All the staff in every sector are hard working and mostly helpful and friendly. I'm sad to have to write negative things about the Don Pablo but we felt disappointed that as returning guests,we weren't treated better. A room away from the building work would have been a start and maybe free carparking for the inconvenience of not being able to use the usual one next door. We asked to be moved and for a reduction of the car park charge but both requests were refused. The guy at reception ( i wont give his name) even had the cheek to say our room was actually an upgrade...seriously??!! I'm sorry to say that we won't be returning to the Don Pablo and would encourage management to take better care of their returning guests as there are many other hotels in the area that will.

Return again year after year. Wonderful hotel from start to finish. The staff here are absolutely fantastic they go above and beyond. Nothing is an issue for them and they should be commended for this. Hassle free check in and had a side sea view room 1312 which was very comfortable and had wonderful views. Shower does need an upgrade and I would recommend leaving actual cups in the room for guests. Cleaned everyday and left spotless. We stayed bed and breakfast only so I cant comment on the rest of the food served. Breakfast was wonderful with a choice of everything to suit all needs. Pool are kept very clean and lots of sunbeds. I have seen lots of beds reserved very early with towels and no one arriving on them for hours but we always found a bed but meant getting up that bit earlier. I would suggest an investment in extra parasols as I said plenty of beds but lacking in these. Poolside bar very good and excellent staff so nice and cheerful always. Poolside bar food very good also. We didn't stay for evening entertainment but we did catch the last 15 minutes a couple of nights and it seemed very good the acts we saw. Don't fully understand why the area above the poolside bar isn't open at night time. This would be a wonderful location to sit back and relax and watch the sun go down. Pablo was being done up as we were there but didn't effect our holiday some days lots of noise but if it was too much then we just went across to the beach. Overall wonderful experience and I am just awaiting my reward points before I book again for next year, Cant wait to see the finished article.

Just recently returned from the Don Pablo end of June . We have been coming here on a regular basis over the years and returning again this September, we love it for its tranquility and location to all amenities Thank you to Miguel and Claudia for helping to make it a special experience. The staff are lovely and the hotel is very well run, every morning you can see an army of staff cleaning and preparing the hotel for the day. Central to everything with the beach across the road, you can get the lift up to the top of the town where the train station is nearby. Sit and have a drink and watch the world go by. From the security staff at the front and back entrance to the management who regularly pass through the complex all have a friendly smile and greeting, well done to all at the Don Pablo. 👏👏👏 Noel & Mary Power Waterford Ireland

One week before travel notified might be some noise from building work. It’s major refurbishment work. Very very noisy Be prepared. We’re in a room far enough away we can cope but some rooms are very close. It will disturb you from 8am onwards ! My guess it will continue for weeks not days. Our room good. Food good. Sadly many folk and children start reserving loungers around the pool from 8am. Beds reserved and many left empty for hours. No pool staff control. What’s annoying is many beds reserved are by guests from neighbouring hotels. This hotel turns out to be family resort. Lots of loud children. We had booked to come again in Oct for three weeks. Cancelled now as we don’t like holidaying in a Butlins like situation. Buffet. Food reasonably good. What I don’t like are children helping themselves and touching food, food that subsequently adults choose unaware that some little child has mauled it first, after scratching their behind. I watched in horror. Parents don’t seem bothered as long as they don’t have to supervise and control their children. I even mentioned to one woman that her son had fingered at least five pancakes. She just shrugged ! In summery. If you want a relaxing holiday. Don’t come here. If you don’t want food that has been touched by others first. Don’t eat here. Have to say many guests are more 2*. Happy to go to dinner in flip flops and football shirt. In other words no class. Many parents happy for their child to play on its iPad or phone during a meal. No standards. The hotel and our room were clean. Staff very pleasant, Internet poor. Clearly we made the wrong choice of hotel Jet2 however should never book guests into this hotel whilst works continue. From 8am it’s very noisy. They knew from last December that refurbishment was taking place. Sol Hotels must have known months ago that it was not going to be completed on time. Unacceptable.

The hotel was fantastic, but as I’m Ceoliac i was bitterly disappointed in the Gluten Free options that were available,there was only a little table with gluten free cereal and bread on, many chefs when asked what I could eat i was told to ask a waiter i expect a better display of food as I’m sure there must be many more people with the same condition considering that this is a four star hotel.

Absolutely appalling, holidaying on a building site. No way will this be finished before mid July, if then. Woken every day at 8.00am by drilling and cutting The whole building smells of oil based paint. Rubble everywhere, bar toilets not open. Told all works will be finished by June 6th. A joke !! Jet 2 shouldn't be selling these holidays !!

This hotel only rates are three my opinion the beds are too hard. Couldn’t sleep for more than two hours at a time. Some of the food was good. Sometimes not so good I would go back but I want to go into the new hotel that’s been renovated at the moment. That’s where I stayed the first time I went.
