It was comfortable, friendly check-in, decent breakfast but get it before 8:00.

Room smelled badly of cigarette smoke.

The staff were fantastic. We arrived at ANC tired and disoriented. Driver Anthony collected us and couldn't have been more helpful or kinder. He also took us to the train station the following day. Receptionist Blanch similarly could not do enough to help us. She was brilliant. Merrill Field Inn is a "motel" in the traditional American style. The room could not be described as modern but it was spotlessly clean, freshly painted and the heating and aircon worked great. Loads of hot water, a comfortable bed - what more do you need? Also, trash facilities right outside which was really handy. After a good night's sleep the complimentary breakfast was very welcome. It was expertly coordinated by Mattias who made a great job of handling a simultaneous deluge of demanding customers.
